I get going back to an inmate because I would probably do the same. However, she most likely is unable to go to the states, so I’m unsure what the point is.

I was with one but I was seeing him beforehand and it was a short stint. Actively seeking a prison relationship (especially more than once) is weird and no one can convince me otherwise.
