Only way I can think of a suitable answer is how the Trackers interact with them through their videos. Considering Tim always says 'we' it's like he is including his viewers in his trip to the parks when he hasn't brought anyone else along with him. Also they engage their followers to comment, then use those comments as talking points in the next video. The viewers feel like they are actually friends, and maybe for some it's because their kids ask them to send a letter to them because they are people on the TV who are entertaining and fun to watch. To be fair, I wouldn't want to keep most of the stuff that gets sent to them. But, I hate clutter, and would know better than to advertise the fact that I had a P.O. box. Their house looks like a flea market with all of the bad artwork, and knickknacks in every room. They need to designate one room for it, and keep the rest of the house nice.
Also, what goes through a person's mind when they go beyond just leaving a comment on a video, and think that it's a good idea to waste their time, money, and energy, sending online "personalities" (A.K.A. strangers) weird shit and long letters?
Aside from that, I don't get why people would send them things that cost money, unless it's to get free advertisement for their product, which would make good business sense, if they opened the PO Box more often.
