Has anybody been since restrictions have been imposed? And if so please could you report back and let us know what it was like?
My daughter is at uni near Thorpe Park and I’d quite like to go for some general silliness and to let off steam but might prefer not to if it’s a bit dystopian!
I’ll definitely report back on our trip to dm next week. It may not be exactly the same as Thorpe in terms of what they have in place but it should provide a rough picture of what to expect in these kind of places.

I’ve been to Alton towers :) temp checks on entrance and social distancing marks in lines. Rides stopped every 30 mins to be cleaned but only took like 5 minutes. I will say some lines were better than others for distancing. You can easily stand 2m from those in front but if you have a group behind not listening it is difficult.
We were socially distant on rides too, with seats left in between parties on oblivion and full rows left on the likes of Rita.
Masks needed on all larger rides and this was checked by staff before entering the lines.
A lot of food places closed creating longer lines at the ones open but it wasn’t too bad

I felt safe there and I imagine all parks would be similar atm.

I absolutely love a theme park but I've never been to most of them!! Weve done legoland (we managed 4 rides in 2 days, absolute nightmare. Turns out my son has autism which is why he wouldnt queue for anything!) Also Paultons Park. But never been to the rest and I'm desperate too.

Omg blackpool!! LOVED it. I had a very very messy 21st there, best birthday ive ever had!

I was at gullivers a few days ago; temp checks going in, masks on rides (kids too), wiping down after every ride & hand sanister before and after rides. I felt safe.

North Yorkshire, we went all the time as kids. Took our daugther for her first birthday and was surprised how much she could do! Not been since as it's so expensive and rarely any offers.
Its local (ish) to us and the best of slim pickings up this area... as for offers if you follow metro radio offers last year we got a family pass for 4 for (I think it was about) 60 quid they usually do these offers 3 or 4 times a year but they sell out quick, theres an email list. With COVID it might be a while before they do it again though.

I'm from the north east so I've only been to northern ones . As a kid, I loved Flamingo Land cos they also had a good zoo. I went to Lightwater Valley a few times too. The had a wooden rollercoaster that looked really rickety and a rollercoaster that was underground. I loved that. I remember the tv ad was to the tune of the 'peace in the valley peace in the city , peace in your soul ' song.

Metro land was the closest to us and was inside a shopping centre, I've never seen anywhere like it .

Blackpool is probably the most exciting, the rollercoaster there looks like you are going to fall in the sea.

I haven't been to a theme park for about 20 years

The ultimate at lightwater valley is still there. We used to take our kids every year until they outgrew the park. Used to come off that rollercoaster black and blue though

Went to Drayton Manor today and said I’d report back so here I am!

We had a great time! It was ‘busy‘ but nowhere near as busy as it would be on a normal summer holiday day. We managed to get on Accelerator three times whereas normally we would struggle to get on it once due to it being one of the more popular rides outside of Thomas Land.

Even in Thomas land which is generally busier than the rest of the park, queues were about 20mins or less apart from the Troublesome Trucks Coaster which was more like 45. I wish they could keep this capacity even without a pandemic as I just don’t find these places enjoyable when it’s busy and there’s hour long queues everywhere. Rides were being wiped down regularly, I witnessed this on a fair few rides so it’s definitely something they are doing and not just saying they are doing if that makes sense.

Temps were checked before entry and we all ‘passed’😆 All the staff wore masks. Patrons are only required to wear masks in food outlets, shops and certain rides. Didn’t see many people walking round with a mask on but there were some. Lots of hand sanitiser stations dotted around and at the exit of every ride. Lots of markings on the floor to show where you need to be standing in queues. A few people got a little closer than I’d like but for the majority of the day it was fine. Had a moment in one queue where a boy accidentally pulled my daughters hair when she was leaning on a fence and he must have caught it from the other side, and the mum didn’t even make him apologise which I thought was super rude as I would have definitely made my kids apologise if they had accidentally hurt someone, so I made all sorts of silent judgements on that family as a result (their kids had ridiculous names, for example).

Overall it was definitely worth it, I felt safe and I would consider going there again with the measures they have in place. The only thing I wish was that the rides were open longer. They closed at 4:30/5pm today after opening at 10:30am and as the afternoon went on I felt like we had to rush around a bit, we barely touched the zoo for example and I never got my train ride on the Polperro Express! Another hour would have been perfect.
