Alton towers has been our go to park the past couple of years, we think our daugthers at 120cm now so that opens up a few of the bigger rides when we go in a couple of weeks (fingers crossed)
We love Scarefest thier and really hoping they can pull something off for this year given everything.

The tweeted something to someone earlier about scarefest. Looks like they do have plans of it happening in some capacity!

Has anybody been since restrictions have been imposed? And if so please could you report back and let us know what it was like?
My daughter is at uni near Thorpe Park and I’d quite like to go for some general silliness and to let off steam but might prefer not to if it’s a bit dystopian!

I’ve been to Alton towers temp checks on entrance and social distancing marks in lines. Rides stopped every 30 mins to be cleaned but only took like 5 minutes. I will say some lines were better than others for distancing. You can easily stand 2m from those in front but if you have a group behind not listening it is difficult.
We were socially distant on rides too, with seats left in between parties on oblivion and full rows left on the likes of Rita.
Masks needed on all larger rides and this was checked by staff before entering the lines.
A lot of food places closed creating longer lines at the ones open but it wasn’t too bad

I felt safe there and I imagine all parks would be similar atm.

I’ve heard of it but never actually been. It’s in Yorkshire I believe.

I absolutely love a theme park but I've never been to most of them!! Weve done legoland (we managed 4 rides in 2 days, absolute nightmare. Turns out my son has autism which is why he wouldnt queue for anything!) Also Paultons Park. But never been to the rest and I'm desperate too.

Not seen a thread about UK theme parks here so thought I’d start one! What’s everyone’s favourite? I’ve done a poll but could only do so many answers so apologies if I’ve missed any!

My fav is probably Drayton Manor for nostalgia reasons although it’s still good today, just not as good as it was in the 90’s/00’s! (Thomas land is fab though). I also really enjoy Alton Towers’ selection of roller coasters. There’s less to do for my kids there though as they’re not tall enough for a lot of things so Drayton is our park of choice usually.

Are you from the Midlands? Drayton Manor used to be brilliant, when you could get a wristband and spend ages on all the rides.

We usually go to alton towers a couple of times a year. I really want to go to throrpe Park for a change

Gullivers is so cute for kids!

I like Chessington & Thorpe Park. Never been to alton towers but the rides have always seemed too scary

Omg blackpool!! LOVED it. I had a very very messy 21st there, best birthday ive ever had!

I was at gullivers a few days ago; temp checks going in, masks on rides (kids too), wiping down after every ride & hand sanister before and after rides. I felt safe.

I'm from the north east so I've only been to northern ones . As a kid, I loved Flamingo Land cos they also had a good zoo. I went to Lightwater Valley a few times too. The had a wooden rollercoaster that looked really rickety and a rollercoaster that was underground. I loved that. I remember the tv ad was to the tune of the 'peace in the valley peace in the city , peace in your soul ' song.

Metro land was the closest to us and was inside a shopping centre, I've never seen anywhere like it .

Blackpool is probably the most exciting, the rollercoaster there looks like you are going to fall in the sea.

North Yorkshire, we went all the time as kids. Took our daugther for her first birthday and was surprised how much she could do! Not been since as it's so expensive and rarely any offers.

Its local (ish) to us and the best of slim pickings up this area... as for offers if you follow metro radio offers last year we got a family pass for 4 for (I think it was about) 60 quid they usually do these offers 3 or 4 times a year but they sell out quick, theres an email list. With COVID it might be a while before they do it again though.

The ultimate at lightwater valley is still there. We used to take our kids every year until they outgrew the park. Used to come off that rollercoaster black and blue though

I like Thorpe Park and Chessington but because I'm a baby and don't like rides, my favourite is Legoland or the water park in Thorpe Park ha

I totally forgot about the horror house that was the best one I’ve done! Legit nearly shit my pants. We burst through the last door screaming into the pub/bar and everyone was looking at us

I remember one group literally fell through the door all on top of each other it was such a laugh

I miss the scare mazes in the maize field at Alton towers Scarefest. They were the best. I remeber being directed into a bus and knowing the zombies were going to come in. Scared me shitless but it was the best fun ever.

We went to the new Gulliver's at the weekend and they were on it with masks on rides, it felt like a normal day tbh.
Towers in a couple of weeks, from what iv seen its working well thier but thiers as big difference in thier target customers so will see how it goes.

From vlogs everything looks alright.
