They are all so relatable. Jemma spends what seems like all of Sunday at the gym now, Kelly makes bits drag the kids round all day in the heat to watch mum “battle through”, Charlie takes unpaid leave to do whatever the duck she wants.

Meanwhile in the real world….

I'm guessing they might not have approved unpaid leave ('cause y'know the NHS has a massive backlog to work through, including people like my dad who is waiting for surgery, the aftercare of which will require the support of a dietician...), but all parents have a right to 18 weeks of unpaid leave per child between the ages of 0-18.

I bet she'll make full use of her parental leave,. although you have to use it for spending time with your child, not to swan off to Wimbledon and concerts. I wonder if her employers know she was using it to spend time away from her child?
Hope your dad gets his op soon x

How long did she take when Bertie was born?

Reddit have the measure of Charlie. Unfortunately there seems to be a lack of due diligence for Welloggs.

Why is Beans trying to “train her gut” to take on over 60g carbs per hour (ie 3 gels per hour) when she’s going to run 4+ hours anyway? I’m a 4 hour runner and honestly, a gel every 40/45 mins is absolutely sufficient (and way less risky) if you’re not that speedy.

Like, totally get it if you’re trying to blow the lights out with a PB but she’s going to pootle along at best. She loves to focus on all the secondary details and ignore the most useful thing: actually training.

I think I’m going to unfollow as she’s just so repetitively dull now.

I agree - I’ve always said she takes on far too much, I’d be so sick if I took that much on (and on the loo!) - she’s just overdoing it for a relatively low-effort pace. I’ve done loads of marathons (nearly 40) and I think the most gels I’ve had in one is 3 - I have breakfast, then about 30-45 mins in and a couple more after that. She carb loads like she’s training for a 5 day ultra too.

I am doing a long distance triathlon soon and aiming for 50g/hour for that, it's quite a challenge!

NYC for 14 hours? Please tell me it’s en route to somewhere else because that’s ridiculous otherwise. Has her son gone with them?

Then she'll complain about not having enough time for work/family/friends/marathon training 🙄

I assume they're en route to see their surrogate? All snarking aside, I hope this means the egg transfer worked for them.

Really? I think it's selfish, she complains about having one as it is and I feel for him and any future kids they might have. She is too selfish and obsessed with trying to be relevant online than be a mother

I want it to work because I do feel bad that she is unable to carry children, like I would for anyone with fertility issues. I absolutely see what you're saying but maybe a second child will force Charlie to focus on what matters. Obviously you would hope that would have happened with Bertie but a toddler and newborn will be much harder to offload on people/shove in a buggy and ignore.

I would say they are on a trip related to surrogacy. She named a run on starva a few months ago ET which is embryo transfer but it was quite a while ago so I thought it had been unsuccessful

If you have to travel overseas numerous times for surrogacy related reasons then that’s fair enough but maybe alter the number of times you travel overseas for random 5ks to offset that.

Maybe.
