I really enjoyed watching this, and then watching greys anatomy afterwards seemed rubbish in comparison!
I do wonder how long it would continue though with the season format of running through an entire shift. It’s a novelty and I did like it, but it feels quite limiting in terms of developing relationships (not necessarily romantic ones) as there’s so little time shown!
I completely agree. Watching the latest greys was like watching a naff American daytime soap

Has anyone followed the sheer chaos online about the character of Dr Mohan not being brought back next season? People are going nuts, writing extensive pieces about alleged misogyny and racism. It’s wild.

I like the set up of the show where cast members will come and go regularly. Like everyone, I have my favourites (hi Langdon, hi Whittaker, hi Mel… hi Abbot 🫦), but I want a good show more than anything else so if they have to be rotated out at some point to keep it fresh, so be it
That's ridiculous: didn't she recently have an episode where she discusses the various career paths she's considering and how she's working out what her next move will be? Loads of doctors do a few years in emergency before moving onto a specialism, in this country as well as in the US.

Oooh I was waiting for a Pitt thread! Haven’t watched the second series yet but I loved the first. I said to my partner that it was the first TV I’d watched in a long time where I didn’t pick up my phone through a whole episode, I was that engrossed in it.

Hoping to start the second series in a few days. My faves are Dr Abbot (yum), Dr Mel and Whittaker. I also like a lot of the nurses, particularly the two that speak in different languages so they can talk about everyone else! I hope Dr Santos is less annoying in the second series, she drove me mad in the first one!

mel is my favourite 🥲 (i love that bryan cranston has a mel keyring and lots of mel merch - it’s so sweet).

i was also surprised to see that it’s patrick ball’s first ever acting credit. when i first watched it i immediately googled him (because 😍😍🥵) and he had literally one law and order thing from years ago. he’s so good as langdon.

(also, as a welsh person, amazed that the guy who plays whittaker is from barry island 🤣)
Is he?!!!!!!!

agree with you re Langdon 🥵

As a huge ER fan I loveddddd the first series. I don’t know why the second didn’t grip me as much :(
I think the catastrophe in the first series was more dramatic than anything that happened in the second series and there wasn’t enough Dr Mel second time around who is one of my favourites. Maybe too many characters altogether? Still enjoyed it though!

I think Dana might be my favourite. I adore her voice.

I can't get away Dr Al-Hashimi. I know she's supposed to be the "anti-Robby" and were supposed to find her cold & robotic, but my main issue is that she looks uncannily like Emma Watson, who I have a visceral dislike of, and I can't get past that.

I can’t find myself attracted to Langdon because I saw some woman do a cosplay of him on instagram, she did make up and she looked so like him but in such a weird way that it’s stuck with me and it’s all I see now when I look at him.

I did see how the actor said this was essentially the first big job that he booked, and, as a theatre actor, it’s very nice to be earning decent money now!

Tbf, as with everything these days, the fandom for The Pitt is weird and OTT. I’ve seen people writing smutty fan fiction about Abbott and shipping Whittaker and Dr Robby.

Did anyone see the Quinn collab Dr Abbott did? That was a stroke of genius marketing.
NOBODY ships Whittaker and Robby harder than Noah Whyle. I'm not even joking. He'll turn ANY interview into an excuse to talk about it, from the fanfic to the fanart... he'll talk about fanart the rest of us haven't even seen, I swear he's commissioned it just for himself 👀🤣

Indeedy - she is abrasive and hard to warm to and yep, there are reasons we don’t know (yet).

I am not attracted to Langdon but I can see has been cast as the pretty boy and the point being made.

The ICE arrest was a curious flash in the pan. My team mates and I are nowhere near as in the trenches bonded as this lot and we would never have settled from an incident like that (appreciate the difference being that we work on a digital transformation project 😂).

I said this too! About one episode in particular from season one, the one with Leah, Jake’s girlfriend?
Tbh literally every episode I was like that but that episode was just so tense, wasn’t it? I was just willing Dr Robby on and then you’re like no just stop 😳

Is it wrong that I am super excited about the water slide injuries that are on their way to the hospital? Things are about to get spicey

There’s something brewing with Santos but I can’t warm to her. Not keen on Dr Al Hashimi either, she’s in therapy for something as hinted when she made that call a few episodes back but I wonder what for.
You’ll find out more about Al Hashimi in this week’s episode…

which is great by the way.

I feel like the ICE guy would have been told to remove his mask.

Also, so if you know someone you just get straight in - Mel and her sister, Robbie and his mate? Such care seems taken with realism, and they’re not doing the usual medical soapy storylines, so it just brings me out a bit. But I suppose given it’s solely based in the department they have to bring characters lives into the place so we get a rounder sense of them. But still, niggles a bit.
