Surprised there isn't a thread already, I'm obsessed with this show. Binged the whole first series in one weekend!

Why am I only just finding out that Dr Mel is Bryan Cranston's daughter. Bloody love Dr Mel.
mel is my favourite 🥲 (i love that bryan cranston has a mel keyring and lots of mel merch - it’s so sweet).

i was also surprised to see that it’s patrick ball’s first ever acting credit. when i first watched it i immediately googled him (because 😍😍🥵) and he had literally one law and order thing from years ago. he’s so good as langdon.

(also, as a welsh person, amazed that the guy who plays whittaker is from barry island 🤣)

I’m glad other people can’t stand Santos, she’s so self righteous.

Am up to date with season 2 now, I thought the parts with Dana and the rape victim were so well done. She’s a wonderful character.

The ICE situation is completely true to life unfortunately. They really do cover their faces and they really don’t let you tell your family where you are. And people really are terrified of them.

Santos probably does have a point about Langdon, what he did was very serious and most people aren’t cured after one stint of rehab. I still can’t stand her jutting out chin and narky attitude though, she can get in the bin.

So glad I found this thread ~ I'm ADDICTED!!! But I'm seriously concerned about how I'm going to cope now that I've binged all of the available eps on Now and have to wait for the weekly drops :(

I think the ‘real-time’ versus ‘viewing time’ issue makes Santos look like she’s holding a long-term grudge, when in reality it’s only been a few hours of Langdon’s first shift back and they possibly haven’t actually spent a huge amount of time together.

Roddy was pretty pissed off about him being back too, but because that was at the start of the shift it feels like it happened ages ago.

The weekly drop of the real-time episodes makes it hard to stay fully invested in the various cases. I keep forgetting there’s an abandoned baby as she only gets mentioned every couple of episodes.

I feel like the ICE guy would have been told to remove his mask.

Also, so if you know someone you just get straight in - Mel and her sister, Robbie and his mate? Such care seems taken with realism, and they’re not doing the usual medical soapy storylines, so it just brings me out a bit. But I suppose given it’s solely based in the department they have to bring characters lives into the place so we get a rounder sense of them. But still, niggles a bit.
Yes there are a few bits that I think wouldn't happen, but I am still loving it. I'm so annoyed ' I'm up to date now!

Santos can get in the bin with her moral outrage about Langdon.

Has anyone followed the sheer chaos online about the character of Dr Mohan not being brought back next season? People are going nuts, writing extensive pieces about alleged misogyny and racism. It’s wild.

I like the set up of the show where cast members will come and go regularly. Like everyone, I have my favourites (hi Langdon, hi Whittaker, hi Mel… hi Abbot 🫦), but I want a good show more than anything else so if they have to be rotated out at some point to keep it fresh, so be it

I said to my partner that it was the first TV I’d watched in a long time where I didn’t pick up my phone through a whole episode, I was that engrossed in it.
I said this too! About one episode in particular from season one, the one with Leah, Jake’s girlfriend?

yeah! it’s weird to me because in the first season they pretty much say she’s going to move on because that’s what would happen in a hospital setting anyway: she’s a third year resident right? so she’s really trying to find what she wants to specialise in and it makes sense she would then move to a different hospital or rotation. it makes the whole thing more real. i liked the character a lot but people are being so ott about it and some of the stuff being said about noah wyle in response is 😳

as long as langdon and abbott never leave i’m good 😭

Her whole storyline on the show, from the start, has been about how the emergency department isn’t suited for her 😭 I thought they did a great job of showing how, although that isn’t where her skill set lies, she absolutely excels in another area (with the elderly). I naively thought that was a great and important storyline to include and then I read so many people kicking off online and I’m just like, are we all watching the same show here? 😭

Yeah I say I’d be good with it but… Langdon and Abbott… maybe I would kick off online after all 🤣

Tbf, as with everything these days, the fandom for The Pitt is weird and OTT. I’ve seen people writing smutty fan fiction about Abbott and shipping Whittaker and Dr Robby.

Did anyone see the Quinn collab Dr Abbott did? That was a stroke of genius marketing.

I really enjoyed watching this, and then watching greys anatomy afterwards seemed rubbish in comparison!
I do wonder how long it would continue though with the season format of running through an entire shift. It’s a novelty and I did like it, but it feels quite limiting in terms of developing relationships (not necessarily romantic ones) as there’s so little time shown!
I completely agree. Watching the latest greys was like watching a naff American daytime soap
