High street clothes shops are rubbish now even Asda's clothing has gone all teenager style of crop tops etc and bloody disney shite. Also I picked up a t shirt in there the other day and it was £16!

I thought boohoo etc was at knockdown prices as it’s poor quality and I wanted the cheapest bikini possible. Knowing Zara etc would be £20 plus and having heard of missguided’s £1 bikini, I tried to get one on boohoo and the top was like £15 and bottoms £12 so not even that cheap? And worse quality than Topshop, oasis etc

£16 in Asda?! I don't want to sound like a miser but unless it had embellishments etc. on it that's Topshop t shirt prices for me!

Her and her mates were meant to be doing a night out with bowling and food , But now decided to go prom, like today woke me up and said mum where can I get a prom dress any ideas where to try, we have looked already online and at quiz

Local Facebook? formals are big in my area so we're saturated with places that sell the dresses and also rent them. Tk maxx usually have some too. Forever unique or Asos with next day delivery?

The high Street is dead, what are we left with Primark and Zara? Had this discussion on another thread but my local city is finished, its boarded up shops and the drug problem is out of control. I was literally stepping over people on substances in the day time. And nobody seems to care...
The only good thing I've noticed is the budget shops are catering for big boobies, which is quite good because £50 on a bra is not something I want to do anymore.

Everywhere is the same, just empty shops. High rents, high business rates, expensive parking. People don't bother going to town because there isn't much left. It's not worth it. The cost of living crisis is just going to make things worse, a few more of the struggling chains might fail in the next two years I think. Even Matalan is at risk, a business you think is doing well, but has huge levels of debt it needs to refinance in the next few months.

The cost of parking is a major problem, there is a m&s and a trip to the food section is 10 15 mins, but I am not paying £2 to park. The supermarkets have free parking as do the shopping centres.

HMV have been hanging on for years. Good for them if they've managed to find a niche.
My little town centre is doing quite well at the moment, the only shop we've lost over the pandemic is Shoezone, and a couple of cafes. Might be because we have quite a lot of older people.

I’ve come to the conclusion I’ve forgotten how to clothes shop because of the pandemic!
Now,admittedly I was no great shakes before, but went holiday clothes shopping with hubby, he got 6 T-shirts, me, nothing!
Find it very overwhelming to be confronted by so much, and just wander aimlessly about! Hubby pointed out that I just looked and barely paused to touch anything and look at it in more detail!
Said to hubby I will buy if something grabs my attention but its all awful, and being a short arse mostly too long.
Ive decided I have enough of my own stuff without buying more. Maybe next year the styles and choice will improve.

Most clothes atm are one extreme or the other, they're either tarty, overly revealing, uncomfortable, tight, or they're really frumpy, baggy, with an ugly pattern and shapeless. Most women just want something inbetween - something that shows off your shape but also classy and comfy, I don't get why that's hard for companies to design

Warehouse used to hit the mark so well for me there, I got lovely fitted clothes there that weren't too revealing for an office environment, yet showed off my figure.

I am not a fan of the high street, ours as most now are, is full of hairdressers/barbers, phone shops, charity shops and coffee shops.

Most clothes stores stock so very little size range/colours.

I hate on line shopping.

I've noticed that HMV have started to return to some High Streets.

I visited Oxford recently. Years ago there used to be a HMV (and Fopp) there, both of which closed.

In the last few months, HMV have returned to the main shopping street. Although it seems to be more heavily focused than before on merchandise. Things like T-shirts, posters and other such memorabilia.

I love Fopp, we used to have one in Bristol until it closed down in Jan 2019, the unit has remained empty to this day!
