I find it appalling and disappointing that people are doing all this stuff to their faces and bodies and there are surgeons willing to do it, all in the name of self-esteem. I think we should be helping people to accept that their nose is not that big or weird, your little bits are perfectly normal and lines are part of life and anything can be considered beautiful - instead we have people who end up on Botched because they can't stop faking their looks. (People who have had accidents or major birth defects are not included in this.) Body Modification is not a good thing for Society as a whole. On the subject of fillers and facelifts and the like, I have friends who are older than me (and one younger) who have so overdone it they no longer look like themselves. I think fan is skating perilously close, if she hasn’t already gone over the line.
That said, I think women should do what makes them feel good. Personally, I’m going to age as well as I can, without procedures. I will also say that it makes me so sad that there is such an emphasis on retaining youthful appearances that people go to such extreme measures.
Eta: plus I am a complete chicken and would never voluntarily go under a knife or have needles jabbed in me. 🫣![]()
