Jean-Christophe must have been called in to do a bit of overtime (sunset is about 7.30pm) to help move that wasted purchase of a mirror.

Cuz was done for the day or had run off to the cozy room.

I wonder if Cuz is down in the Jenga Room pulling an all nighter before Chateau DIY appears to film his lack of ‘progress’.

Steffi didn't put "Billy the Spiv" through the Lielande fantasy filter...he looked dreadful. He has lost his youthful bloom and the fuller face he once had made him look younger and healthier. On a serious note I think old Billster is fighting/chasing some huge demons or even "dragons" I suspect that his drugs of choice may be more recreational than Ozempic and a lot might be going up that finely chiselled nose If this is the case I hope he gets help fast as it is devastating for all concerned. Something is out of control there and it might involve more than a passing affair.
I don't like that grim old Library...there is nothing fine about it. Demolition man (Monsieur Nutmond) is very bad temper(dly) going to put to death another perfectly good functional room in that mess of a Chateau (The Winter Salon) it is NOT going to end well. And as others have said that Rothschild Library is probably cursed.
Billy claimed there were once very odd noises at the Convent and stated it was haunted. Well it was the Mother House for the Order of Nuns involved in my early education (The Canonesses of St Augustine). The Nuns (particularly the French ones were very unforgiving) our Headmistress Sister Marie Francoise was even more powerful than the older Mother Superior (who was more or less a figurehead). She ruled with a rod of iron and was very severe. If Billy was carrying on with a few vices after hours at the Convent perhaps the Canonesses are administering a kind of retribution from beyond the Grave Just all so Hellish for Gwendoline and those lovely little boys. Go to Rehab Billy for their sakes

If Princess thinks she has got herself a bargain she will gladly hand over the cash, even if it's not fit for purpose.. If Amaury has anything to do with it that library is destined for very long stay in the container where it will end up brittle and broken.

Isn't it just a frankenmirror glued to a barn door though? The chairs are decent enough (albeit superfluous), but that mirror is truly odd; I totally get that you must grab bargains when they come along, but you do need finished rooms to put them in after a while, and it's been quite a while - and it's not like those rooms didn't have furniture before (Chambord, sure...).There comes a time when it turns into luxury hoarding regardless of how much you want everyone to call it "planning ahead".

Comments from people that have visited LaLande (which we hope to do within a couple of years) always say how beautiful the chateau is but the best part is how you all make everyone feel so welcome like they are family. I want to sit in the kitchen and have morning coffee with Marie while she preps a meal or cuts up veggies…and I want to help.

I think we are safe for quite some time. Beyond the Grande Salon and Grande Dining Room, there’s the terrace, the lake/boathouse, the facade repairs, Gerry’s apartment, the library, the future pool, the future natural swimming hole, “Nati’s” apartment, “Ollie’s apartment”, possibly the creation of a grande staircase, the future French formal gardens, …. We have oodles of fun to look forward to!

I’m on Ozempic, sometimes I refer to it as Mama’s large shots. It doesn’t make you into a bad person. It’s wonderful. If you’re a douche overweight person, you’ll be a douche skinny person. Whatever he’s done in his life, he’s done because he wanted to. Seems like that’s all he does.

I’m on it too for my diabetes, i initially lost weight but I’ve plateaued now just grateful my sugar is under control. What I did notice about it is my aversion to alcohol, I used to love wine haven’t touched a glass for over two years. I might have a cocktail but even that’s rare.

If the chimney breast narrows at the top then is it not possible to 'extend' it each side to follow the width at the bottom? Have I just simplified that? Is it a working fireplace? I've no idea if that is even possible but surely you only need a couple of battons and plaster either side. Is this the room that has just had it walls upholstered? So many questions... What's the saying that these diy folk say... Measure twice cut once... should have gone to specsavers.

LaLande will look like this soon ----- and they will need that lift thing too !!!

I don't know why they bothered putting the chairs in the van... they could have saved so much time and just put them straight into the skip as that's where they will eventually end up, behind the green netting in the metal containers.

I believe it comes down to the ardent defenders having the same desires as the dump crew. They want that life too. So if anyone criticizes the “lifestyle” it’s a personal affront to them. When you all look at that “mirror“ remember that the people who bought this Kenough pink hunk of not very well cobbled together junk are the very same people who criticize Terry and Ash.

eta: I’m not in any way disparaging Terry and Ash. They work hard, are actually accomplishing loads, do most things themselves and in a few short years have transformed their chateau and are close to finishing turning it into their dream. More than can be said for Flanny.

They are about to cobble together a mirror from antique furniture pieces for their dining room…we can compare when the finish.
