What a wonderful first thread started by @roarke. Full of Autumn decor suggestions, TV series to watch and a thorough tutorial on the best doc martens to get this season.

Congrats to @LittleMy for the most votes for the thread title suggestion.

The countdown is on, we started on July 24th as none of us could wait and now we only have 9 DAYS until the official first day of Autumn!
It also looks like the weather forecast (at least in the UK) is finally on the cool down so crack open the pumpkin spice candles, cosy up in your fluffiest socks and blankets and pop on Gilmore Girls, not long now!

A special congratulations to all the Tattlers who've joined the thread and shared they're expecting a little one in Autumn, we wish you all the very best and can't wait to hear how you get on 🤱

Happy Fall Y'all!

My mum bought me the Velvetiser for my birthday last year. I had mentioned wanting it quite a few months - maybe over a year - prior, and she remembered. She was terminally ill and knew it would be the last gift she got me.

I was over the moon with it; my boyfriend and I absolutely love it. It gave us something that was easy for her to talk to us about when she was declining mentally - if we’d been using it, what new flavours we’d tried, etc.. I hope she knew how much it means to me, and how loved it is. ❤ We think of my mum every time we use it, which is a lot (mostly in winter - though we did make a few chocolate milkshakes in spring and summer, which are just as good). She got me two of the lovely hot chocolate mugs, and two of the selection boxes of hot chocolate. There’s something for everyone, but if you’re like me, you’ll love them all. The classic is probably my favourite, but the hazelnut praline has our hearts, too. 😍 If you go into Hotel Chocolat shops between holidays, almost everything is 50% or more off. My only gripe is that you can’t choose your own sachets for a selection box - for e.g. we want to try the peanut butter flavour but don’t want to commit to a whole box (as it has a few negative reviews). I know they have to do this to maximise sales, but yeah. Whittard hot chocolate works perfectly in it, too.

I would recommend it to anyone and everyone who enjoys hot chocolate. We’ve sung its praises to my boyfriend’s parents and we get the impression they’d love it, so we’re getting them one for Christmas. It’ll feel like my mum is still passing on joy. 🥰

TLDR: the Velvetiser is wonderful.

Made toffee apple crumble with my daughter earlier, first autumn recipe of the year 🥰
Thought I’d make the picture more autumnal by taking it next to my bowl of baby pumpkins 🤣

Cooking one hell of a roast today 😋 also wearing a new outfit combo. Skirt from White Stuff via Vinted for £5 with DMs. Feeling very autumnal and cosy.

I’ve got the first of the cold weather colds. Here’s a run down of my last few autumnal days:

🍂 Bought new leggings from primark (helloooo autumn)
🍂 Had my oil burner on every evening with autumn scent
🍂 Had the typical British conversation multiple times: Person: “oh you sound like you’ve got a cold!” Me: “yeah it’s pretty grim” Both together: “that weathers changing out there” and repeat with every person I bump into in the kitchen at work
🍂 bought brushed cotton bedsheets (put them on today and I’m currently in bed feeling sorry for myself but feel like I’m enveloped in a snuggly warm hug)
🍂 Vanilla based perfume
🍂 Open toe slippers OUT, slipper boots IN
🍂 Can’t remember the last time I had my legs waxed because tights are life
🍂 Switched my afternoon coffee for a cosy mug of tea
🍂 Summer clothes are under the bed
🍂 Slow cooker is getting used a few times a week
🍂 SOUP FOR LUNCH 😋

There’s probably more but that is my current autumnal cosy bubble, thank you very much 🥰

I got these in the range and put them around two pictures in my living room, I didn’t know if it would look alright or not but I really like them 🍂

It’s forecast to be 15 degrees for my wedding on Saturday (perfect temp for me!). Not too cold so I’m not shivering in my dress, but not too hot so that I’m sweating!

There’s also a little rain forecast, which can’t be helped at this time of year! Apart from the photos, everything is inside. Although the rain might make some cool photos with the autumn feel!

I’m all in for autumn, but hot sweet milky drinks give me the absolute ick. Got some apple & cinnamon tea (drink without milk, so not sweet) which satisfied my autumness and falls in with my low carb eating. Quite apart from the milky ick, all those syrups and Baileys and chocolate are so calorific - one a day and I’d be the size of a witch’s cabin in the woods by Hallloween….

Seriously though, I don’t think anyone’s said they’re having one every day (and you can also get sugar free syrup). It’s fine to treat yourself. And this isn’t a diet thread 🤷🏼‍♀️

I live in a beautiful friendly village in the north where you can get unlimited rhubarb, courgettes, plums and apples from green fingered neighbours. We’ve been here 20 years. Friends got an apple press as a wedding present and want to use it to its full potential so have invited people round for music, cake and …pressing! We have no apples of our own, but honestly, it’s madness round here. Every day there’s another bag from ‘generous’ neighbours. I’ve done crumbles, cakes, purée for cereal, apple sauce, frozen slices for pies. Am all appled out!!

Also, those supermarket crumble mixes are brilliant with a few oats and a handful of granola mixed in, a few dots of butter on top.

I just love sitting in my pjs on the couch, blanket over me, hot chocolate in hand whilst listening to the rain pour down outside.

Not everyone thinks in calories. Some people have worked very hard to heal their relationship with food and develop healthy attitudes :)

Have been reading this thread for a few days and I love it 🥰 It makes me so happy seeing others enjoying Autumn as much as I do 😬 I made an account just so I could post a photo of the pumpkin plate I bought today, and now tomorrow am planning a trip to home bargains to look at the mugs 😂😂
