They have granted them a stay until 2pm, so does that mean after 2pm the hospital can withdraw his treatment?

Oh my god how is this still going on? Those poor NHS staff having to continue to provide care for Archie whilst his mother is slating them and running to every court she can find. She needs to just stop now.

Ffs. Enough is enough and these court sittings are pointless if you can go around in circles appealing. They’ve had all this time to make this one final.

it means they have until 2pm to appeal which they will

She's barely an expert by experience either lol I did tit tonnes of research with Mums Cancer but was more to give me a better understanding of what was being waffled out. Yes I know its my Mum and different to child but not once did we dispute what the Doctors said (and as shared prior me and Mum had actually had the convo about machines keeping us alive). I don't regret letting her go as she was going to die regardless. Any sympathy I may have had for Hollie has long gone. Needs to be a goddam order in situ to prevent these appeals as its just attempting to rehash stuff that's already been declined!!

The most concerning thing is the influence she is having over a lot of young, and sorry to say but uneducated mums. These women will be afraid to take their children to hospital for fear the doctors & nurses are going to kill them off. I was a young mum myself at 19 and I looked up to older mums. I’m now in my 30s with 4 children and a degree so I know better but these young mums are gullible and impressionable.

The lady who sadly lost her son from the helium balloon incident did the right thing. She’s raised awareness about the possibilities of children dying climbing into balloons. And I will admit that had never ever occurred to me; that climbing into a balloon that big could be fatal. As I’ve already mentioned my kids have ADHD and this would be something they’d attempt and I wouldn’t of thought it could kill them. Probably shows how thick I am to be honest. But what I’ve taken from this sad lady’s story. Is that her son had no chance of life and she let him go with peace and dignity and done as much for him, in his last few hours that she possibly could.
How Archie’s mum has behaved I don’t think can be blamed on grief it’s bizarre and bordering on unstable behaviour and I’d be extremely concerned that this behaviour shes showing is more from guilt. And what’s made her feel so guilty? I can’t believe these threads are filling so fast and she’s still kept him on that machine. He’s gone he’s been gone since day one. I’m sorry but I couldn’t look at what was once my child in that bad, and know they have gone and it’s not my child anymore it’s a rotting corpse. It’s really strange.
BIB - No, it most certainly doesn't show anything of the sort.
It's not something that many people would be aware of.

I read of a similar case not long ago. Sadly the child had tried to re-inflate the helium balloon, with similar consequences.
Heartbreaking.

It sounds like his body isn’t far from giving up and it’s all a game to her. I wouldn’t be surprised if the hospital can see it’s only a matter of time now and have given up or if they just have a weak system that is being abused.

What are her grounds for appealing? While she does have a right to appeal, you can’t just appeal because you don’t like a Court decision; you have to have grounds. You need to be able to prove the initial Judge applied the law incorrectly, or that they got the facts wrong. I assume that’s why all the previous appeals have gotten nowhere.

The thing about the phone calls. Those calls would be fielded by reception surely and not even put through to the unit?

I know language changes and evolves so I have to accept at some point it will be should of, and it won’t matter which version of there/their/they’re is used … but I’m not there yet and reserve the right to rock and bite my knuckles.
Me too. Hate it.

It'll be an appeal to move to the hospice and then a new request to move him abroad followed by an appeal after its refused.

He'll die still attached to his machines long before they would ever get to the end of these appeals.

I totally get that they don't want to let go. I totally get that "blame" is a big part of grief. The damage they are causing for future cases is immesurable. Will the floodgates now open for every poor family who have to go through this heartbreak to follow their lead?
