Well it perked up last night .
.. of course anyone in Natasha’s position is going to put in a reduced offer in such circumstances but boy oh boy Natasha should be doing Karren Brady’s job on The Apprentice, she has a voice as cold as ice which somehow manages to be smug, arrogant and belittling the same time, all whilst actually not raising her voice.

Bit of good advice to anyone who has not listened to the Wednesday 19 March episode …
don’t bother, the worst episode forever, I am really wondering if this episode was intended as an April 1st spoof but someone pressed the wrong button: the one saving grace was that Linda Snell wasn’t in it, however it is obvious one of the main protagonists from last night is being groomed to be the next Linda

I hate these utterly ridiculous scenarios that keep being set up. Paying Rex to play cricket. Hoping nobody else will find out. It's all so silly.
Stupid Helen asking Clarrie and Susan to decide amongst themselves who'll get the sack.

Yes indeed …. way too big a name for TA.
TA has had some proper celebrity guests in the past but they disappear real quick.
I would love to hear Roger Allum make guest appearances, he’s my favourite radio actor, he’d fit in real nice chewing the fat with Brian and Justin in The Bull.

Apparently scriptwriters have admitted they fucked up with the stupid 'cricket bat lying hidden for decades' storyline.
The cricket pavilion was entirely rebuilt relatively recently - and called the Jack Woolley pavilion or something like that.

I wonder if Ruth being remorseful over showing Khalil the horrible photos might mean a reprieve for Monty?
I quite like the way that family deflate the smug Archers sometimes. Khalil saying to Ruth thanks but no thanks for wanting me to work for free on your farm, and the dad (sorry forgotten his name) turning down Helen wanting him to work in the dairy saying it didn't interest him

I have just listened to the latest Archers podcast. Quite a lot of background on the Malik family which I’d forgotten or didn’t know about in the first place. A really good broadcast. The actors playing Ruth and Khalil got suitably ‘grilled’ on photo-gate and I actually came away with not quite sympathy for Ruth and her actions but a better understanding of the situation and its aftermath.
And Lily .. oh yes, of course she will be pregnant and it will be a boy. The Trustees of Lower Loxley will find a way to get Freddie out of his heritage expectations and said baby will become the heir with Elizabeth still bossing everyone and everything in sight for the next 25 years. And Harrison gets to be a dad. Sorted

Sunday episodes are always boring AF. Either cricket or church. Better that the bloody play rehearsals. So we have yet another rogue cricket team. No one gives a fook. Same as the Christmas plays. Lazy bookends for summer and winter to give writers some time off by recycling storylines.

Came here to mention that OF COURE the wrong ‘un in the pub was called Darren. What else? Had to be one of those low life poor people the writers detest. We all know that only the lower classes are capable of being abusive before going home to eat the fried unhealthy food and custard creams with their cups of sugary tea when they should be eating gruel and saving their pennies.

totally agree with above comment on David archer being insufferable. He reminds me of a man who once told me that women over a certain age should not wear denim shorts. I was over 30 and wearing denim shorts. Twas me, the harlot.

Thought it was really good, possibly an opportunity to fill newer listeners in but refreshed my mind too. So yes, Brad does love Amber and Harrison on secondment has a ‘friendship’ with a woman who has children and on and on ... but

I’m so over this vegan storyline
1. The whole thing felt very unrealistic and biased. Instead of exposing something realistic like welfare failures at the abattoir, we went for vegan militants that are targeting the good old high welfare and plays music abattoir. Nothing bad could be happening there!
2. The whole rant about farmers and security this week? I think it’s meant to be a traumatic reaction or something but rubbed me the wrong way with the above in mind, and how unrealistic the whole thing is to begin with

I find the David actor about the worst. He's been there for decades but Still. Talks. In. Staccato. And his 'angry' acting is the worst. Truly terrible.
He and Ruth are the worst actors there. They both make me cringe.

Know what you mean. The original actress is well known and perhaps only signed up for a couple of months in terms of Amber was intended to be only a cypher character . In view of how much reaction she’s engendered they have decided to keep the character for the time being at least. But yes you’re right, new actress is not nearly as divisive and quirky, she’s gonna have to up her game.

Was coming here to ask if it was a different actress tonight. I hadn't realised til this evenings episode.
