Take That

This may ruffle a few feathers but…anyone else sick of Howard peddling his conspiracy theories continually?

I wish he would educate himself on many topics and stop posting conspiracy theories. It’s not doing the band any favours, especially in the middle of their tour. In all honesty I’ve lost so much respect for Take that over the last few years due to not only comments from Howard, but also feel Gary has started to seem a little arrogant and full of himself again. It’s like the 90’s Gary is back again. Also his second biography showed a complete different side to him.
I do understand what you mean but I guess if it’s what he believes in he can post what he likes. Not saying I agree with it. Saying that, I’m going to see them in a few weeks and I’m going for the entertainment and nothing more, just to have a night out really.
Just to add, I like them for what they do and nothing more. No feathers ruffled here!

I totally agree. It caused a huge divide within the fanbase when it all came to light. A few of us had been calling Howard out on his views on Twitter before it went viral, but he just doesn't care. I know we're all entitled to our views but his, IMO, are quite damaging and generally awful. I always say "freedom of speech does not mean freedom from consequences" which a lot of people seem to forget. I support Take That just for Mark these days (who is amazing solo by the way).

I actually did unfollow Howard a while back for this reason, but i've recently started following him again on insta and I find his stories very entertaining 😂 Some stuff I agree with and some I don't, which is fine. Not sure if he's still on twitter, I can't seem to find him.

Agree 100% on Mark, he is a vastly underrated singer and songwriter!

If he believes in it fair enough. But I would have thought his management would tell him to post this kind of thing on a ‘personal’ page as opposed to his ‘work’ page.

you don’t see mark or Gary posting political posts or conspiracy theories, or anything really which could divide opinion or rock the boat. all they seem to post is ‘work’ related posts or ‘family’ type posts which in their job/role is a very sensible approach.

I just can’t bring myself to go to one of their gigs anymore. Unfortunately watching Howard prance around on stage and lap up the adoration from fans makes me feel a bit queasy.
For him to think that all of these people knowingly came to see him even though he’s clearly homophobic, gullible and uneducated enough to not think him liking tweets or reposting stuff/conspiracy theories etc won’t harm the TT brand (or his image) shows he really thinks he is something/untouchable.

He is smug and so completely far removed from his roots it is beyond words. I can’t go and scream/dance around/sing along and just ignore the fact that I despise everything I have learned about him. Such a shame as I’ve been to every previous concert but they’ve lost their sparkle now for me.

I agree with the above poster too. Mark needs to do more solo gigs as he is fantastic and id definitely go to his solo gig

Yeah I went off him a bit during Covid when he was posting a lot of anti vax stuff. Fair enough he's allowed his opinion but it made me see him in a different light and it does affect the Take That brand. I've been following him again recently because of the tour and he doesn't seem too bad at the moment!

I went off Gary a bit during his solo stint as the music was crap and he seemed a bit full of himself, but again, he seems to have toned it down since they got back together.

for me it was the combination of the conspiracy theories and the shocking spelling and grammar, made him seem thick as mince

This made me laugh out loud.

I didn’t want to say it, but I agree.

he was harping on about fluoride in toothpaste and in water a while ago and saying we should all buy non fluoride toothpaste and buy filters for the water. He’s turned into a pretentious prick. Which working class family can afford to buy bloody filters for their water and specialist toothpaste. Most people were choosing between heating and eating at the time, some having lost their jobs during lockdown etc. His life is so far away now from what it once was he just makes himself look like an utter prick.
He goes on about how he’s just a lad from Droylsden, who hasn’t changed, but he’s not. He’s an upper class twit now who says we should only feed our children organic food, a man who practices meditation and partakes in sound bathing, a man telling us to buy fluoride free toothpaste and that the vapour in the sky are all chemical trails.
like you say, he’s an uneducated upper class twit which makes him worse than an upper class twit who’s educated and can actually make informed decisions and can back up with evidence why they feel a certain way, or can know to have an opinion and when to keep it to themselves.

to the poster above who says they haven’t seen him post conspiracy theory things, it’s generally always on his stories so they disappear after 24hrs.
yesterday he posted a video of the sky and wrote #chemtrails. The video he shared was of someone advising of the supposed chem trails in the sky.
