Last year was supposed to be 17 September, but Queenie stuff put it back a week to so we had the launch show and first show bumper to bumper the the week after - so around the same I‘d guess.Does anyone have any idea when the launch show is this year? I remember seeing a post about tickets…

I actually quite like the line up this year, there’s only a couple I don’t recognise. Nigel Harman is hot, never fancied him when he was in Eastenders but he’s my new crush 
Despite soap star & presenter overload, I think the lineup collectively is an improvement on recent years, I like that there is some real age diversity this time around rather than half the cast being 30-somethings and tons of BBC "rising stars". Angela is of course the oldest celeb ever (and only the second woman over 70) but Les is also the oldest male celeb in 10 years. All of the over 50 castings are recognisable to the audience. But equally, we do have five celebs in their 20s so there is still some youthfulness.
I think Covid kept the upper age limit artificially low for the last few years, and now they’ve extened the range again.

Lady Lavatory being an utter wanker about Les and his 42nd Street commitments. She appears to be a Les Dennis super fan, if such a thing can exist.

I'm trying to imagine the mind of a person who thirsts after both Les Dennis and Giovanni Pernice. Truly a one-off.
In defence of Lady Lav <goes for lie down> I’m not quite sure what point the other poster was trying to make. unless they were just peeved with fact that Les Dennis is there anyway (in which case fair enough) but they seemed aggrieved that he was missing shows people had booked for … which would be annoying if you had booked purely to see Les Dennis … but which I assume would have been sorted out with the theatre company and their agreement needed before he accepted Strictly anyway and then that a pro would have to follow him round the theatre circuit and squish training around the theatre work. Which is basically Strictly 101 in the early weeks anyway.

Another defence of Lady Lav is that she is truly kind in a non patronising way (IMO anyway) to a regular poster on DS whom one could absolutely take the p1ss out for completely random posts about aunty’s neighbours’ cousins but she (not Lady Lav) has said previously she is on the spectrum and in fairness to DS (need to lie down as well) no-one is ever mean to her. That said, as you were with Gio obsession.

I was a very active child and used to exhaust all of my playmate friends because I had too much energy. I did a lot of ballet at quite an intense level from a young age – I loved it, did all the exams and wanted to become a ballerina. I had an amazing ballet teacher, and I can remember my time in her classes and being chosen to do demonstrations at the Royal Academy.
Keeps fit and does a lot of yoga. I think she’ll be better than Judy Murray at any rate.
(Personally given that and her back story I’d keep her away from Gio. Same with Georgia lookalike Ellie).
(Annabel Also seems to have picked up the resident DS superfan, so not sure she deserves that and Gio).

Its a better line up I agree. Someone for everyone and a good range of ages, there’s only two I hadn’t heard of beforehand.
