I hope everyone in the worst hit areas is safe and there is not too much damage, but this just highlights the north/south divide as the government called a cobra meeting and called in the army and the news hasn’t stopped going on about it, but when the north east and Scotland had a red warning before Xmas no one seemed to care! Thousands of people were without power for two weeks!

I used to work for a boss like that. Because it wasn’t snowing outside his work window he refused to let me leave, even though where I lived 40 miles away already had bad snow. One of the worst driving experiences I have ever had.

Yeah I worked for a prick like that too, back in 2010 when it snowed in Ireland for 3 months non stop, snow was really accumulating and I asked if I could work the rest of the day at home, he refused saying “it’ll be gone by home time”. Then to try to make a point he decided to head off in his car to go to a meeting and got stuck on a bridge for hours. He literally had to be rescued along with loads of others who got stuck. I was fucking delighted for him

We've been saying that for the past 24hrs. All 4 previous recent storms have absolutely BATTERED us. But there was no cobra meetings etc for us
