I work in a professional environment where most people are degree educated, and those people tend to look down their nose at people without degrees and stereotype them as unsuccessful or not intelligent. It winds me up soooo much because a degree is only worth it if your chosen career can't be pursued without it. Plenty of people without degrees are still intelligent and make much more of a success of themselves than those with.

That shy quiet reserved people are miserable.

I’ve been battling with being called this my whole life. Yet my husband, my mum & his family would say I’m totally crazy and always make them laugh with my silliness!

The stereotype that you are a rabid right winger if you don't believe that trans identifying men are women 🤪

That overweight people are like that through gluttony, they're lazy and dirty.

Feeling particularly salty about this today as a friend is being bullied at work for all these things. She has a legitimate health condition that causes her to be overweight, and cannot do any heavy lifting because of that condition. It is NOT through laziness. One colleague also reported that she perspires more than the average person, which they feel is due to poor hygiene.

Stuff these awful people! How dare they treat her like this (she works in an office; the heavy lifting is moving boxes of A4 paper and other stationery upstairs when it arrives at the downstairs reception).

Jesus lads can we stop with the vegan stuff already. 🤪.

I hate the stereotype that living on a council estate is a bad thing and that the people living there are anti social or on welfare.

Thin people don't eat.
I got accused of this all the time in my twenties. My metabolism has caught up with me now though.

That young people are into clubbing. I couldn't think of anything more boring personally.

There's a stereotype that Tattle is full of bitter, nasty old cows but I've found the community here to be really lovely and supportive.

that being quiet when socialising means you’re not enjoying yourself. i like to listen and don’t want to feel like I’m interrupting, especially when other people barely take a breath!

Mine is that women are bad drivers. I think anyone can be a good or bad driver but statistically, women are less likely to get into accidents, more likely to wear a seatbelt and our insurance premiums are cheaper.

that single people are unhappy or desperate to be in a relationship
(I have a bf now but when I was single for years before it was because I wanted to be not because I was either of those things)

This x 1000. I never really talk about being vegan unless it comes up - if someone offers me a cup of tea or a chocolate or something. I mean you have to say no and people usually want to know why. People just get very defensive as if your choice means you are judging their choice
I always think vegans get treated similarly to people who don't drink alcohol. Other people think their choice to do something is being judged by someone whose chosen not to (for reference I eat meat and drink alcohol, just something I've observed!)

To not get off track - that all bisexuals are incredibly sexually adventurous. They don't go hand in hand. Lots of boring bisexual folks too who just enjoy both the fellas and the ladies with no interest in threesomes.

That taking drugs makes you cool and exciting - it sounds super juvenile but I worked part time in a bar part time in my early 20s while studying and a few of the guys that worked there too talked about doing drugs on their nights out. When I said I didn't and had never done any they asked if it was because I was "boring or something" :ROFLMAO: and then kept saying it was "nothing major, just weed and pills" and when I still showed no interest they acted like I was a nun.

Oh another one - people who work in IT, specifically developing software aka coding, are all nerdy, weird and introverted guys.

Nothing more cringe than a meat eater who can’t stop banging on about how much they love bacon, hate veganism and repeatedly telling the same dead, overplayed vegan jokes that have been floating around the internet since like 2009.
Pls update your humour 😭
