Banning social media for under 16s isn't going to help say when it comes to preparations for exams and homework because they won't be able to watch tutorials/educational content on YouTube because they have been banned from it.

I've noticed that most of the better teachers in the lads school have their own YT channels where they have collated playlists of vids around sticky topics or the entire followed curriculum. His history teacher has done this and has even published some of her own videos that grab even my interest and get me down rabbit holes.
You can learn a lot of things through educational YouTube videos that you didn't know about before.
So move them to kids YouTube what’s the problem?
The thing is YouTube Kids is only built for children 12 and under so for the children who are over 12 or are taking GSCE's this isn't going to help them. For example this user makes Maths videos to help GCSE students on Youtube and Youtube have themselves said that YouTube Kids is not appropriate for this content so this has the potential to cause issues IMO for students who need support on certain Maths topics as they won't be able to access the videos that can help them on the topics that they struggle with the most.

They can still watch YT for free - dont sign in.

I saw on the live YouTube feed a delegate or who knows who? At the G7 Handed Trump a football shirt with his name on and it looked like the guy was waiting for him to pull it on over his suit
