I've never seen anything like this in politics, it is batshit crazy.

I'm just following it in a sort of stunned silence.

He thinks that no PM has ever resigned over local election results. He doesn't seem to grasp.that actually it is -
His cronyism
His throwing others under the bus and never taking adult responsibility for his mistakes, mistakes evidenced by constant u-turns.
His lying to colleagues, parliament and us about what he knew when about Mandelson .
Taking us for fools about Mandelson in general. Bruh, you didn't need to see a dossier, Mandy has had to leave governmental jobs more than once and was called the Prince of Darkness - that alone should have been enough.

He has never sought to understand the mood and problems of this nation and act to relieve them. Boats still coming, women still scared, lack of integration in certain areas, cost.of living crisis made worse by Net Zero, jobs etc etc

Basically your party would have moved against you sooner Keir for your utter failure in role, but it suited them to keep you so they could hang local election oblivion on you.

Now off you pop dear man. You are done.

Please God, can someone make sure Miliband gets to duck as well?? Those of us who remember what a bleep he was to his brother don't believe a word he says. Idiot.

'Grown ups in Government' - do The Guardian still insist that is the case?

To everyone else it looks more like children fighting in the playground over who will the next leader.

Apparently Milliband is going to stand if Streeting does. 🤦‍♂️

All I will say is that there has been nothing 'grown up' about this Government. It has just been yet other 💩 show.

Its appalling. I think they forget they are oublic servants, fighting like rats in a sack. What a carry on. I wonder if all those people on X who were bleating 'the adults are back in the room' feel the same now. Im so disappointed with all politicians, there seem to be very few that do the job to make a difference they make it all about themselves.

She needs to come on here and read the Online Safety Act thread, where we've discussed just how quickly the kids get round these sorts of blocks.

Why are government ministers all so naive when it comes to human behaviour, and also why do they all know so little about tech?

Those people were horrendously smug when Labour got back in, it was a right showing of arses for those early days from these supporters.

I wish they had been proven right, actually, but they were insufferable.

I don't think they are naive at all, I think they attach themselves to these pointless policies because they KNOW they won't actually change anything but it gives them an "agenda" to bleat on about and saves them from having to either deal with the issues or deal with other more important issues

This attempted heave is absolutely pathetic in its execution, the whole labour machine is a laughing stock, every single one of them are useless

For me the writing was on the wall when Ange showed up at Downing Street in the horrific and ill fitting green suit!
Keir waving away, triumphant and full of glee about his secret plans to end the winter fuel allowance. That'll show those boomer, Tory, reform, far right, Trump supporters who's boss here.

Glad things are moving now. I hope Streeting goes for it and is sufficiently backed.

I don't think he's popular enough and he wouldn't have the mandate to govern, so you would then suddenly get lots of calls for a General election. So I think the 300-odd MP's who have backed starmer would see the pragmatic move forward would be to block Streeting. Plus his relationship with Mandy is problematic

I don't think any scenario can be ruled out at the moment. It's farcical but realistic imo. Soap Opera Politics.

Al Carns also testing the water as a Dark Horse. Why not in terms of the military defence budget importance? Experience hardly matters in terms of integrity and practical expertise.
