I truly think it's this, because I've been pondering this issue today after headlines about Starmer being obvilious to how much he's loathed. So I think it's a lot of what you said here, and the rest is they live in a complete bubble and have no clue about the real world or real people. Most will have gone from parents to uni to government. Not ideal really when the job should be about understanding those you are supposed to be serving.This is what I dont understand about these people. How do they think their lies are not going to get found out? They nearly always do. Are they that complacent, arrogant and conceited that they genuinely think they can always get away with it, or did he just not expect it to come out while he was still in charge? I have so little faith in any politician, they just seem to get corrupted by the parliamentary machine. They seem to completely forget they are public servants. And when they do get found out, they still dont do the decent thing, put their hands up and say I lied. They just lie more. Disgraceful.
