Sir Keir Starmer #3

The man didn't even need a basic vetting. It was common knowledge that he was completely unsuitable for any appointment at all within any organisation let alone the Government. Let alone the supreme importance of the role he was selected for by the PM. Just to match like with like with Trump and please him and make him sweet on the UK. At what cost it didn't matter.

All I can think is that mandelson must have something big on Starmer for him to risk torpedoing his own career like this

Mandelson has something on EVERYONE, that's where his power had always come from going back to Blair and before possibly.

He's like Varys from Game of Thrones, he knows where the dirty secrets, the bodies and the money is. So no one is safe from his methods who mixes in the right circles. No one is more powerful than the man behind the power who knows everything. You hide in plain sight but not up to the scrutiny of your chosen puppet.

This. Remember when Matt Hancock's affair was leaked - someone inside the 'house' must have leaked that footage a a time that suited their agenda. Someone is always watching and blackmailing. Mandelson also has that smug air, he reminds me of Lucius Malfoy with his sneery face and his proximity to those in power.

The survival of the Most Corrupt..A Protected Species and valuable asset for all the wrong reasons.

Mandelson was a useful asset, warts and all...which Starmer well knew. Was it all worth it for the UK and what was the matter with Dame Karen Pierce?

We saw "angry Starmer" last week when he walloped Sir Hoyle's chair. He's pathetic

I refuse to believe Kier didn't know about the vetting. Come on, Kier, seriously...

I have never agreed with Diane Abbott before and am unlikely ever to again. But she absolutely nailed it in the Commons today when Keir kept saying plaintively: 'No one told me' (about Mandy being bent as a nine bob note and thus failing his vetting) and Diane said 'The question is not Why did no one TELL you, but WHY DID YOU NOT ASK?'
Brilliant.

Abbott is very much a stopped clock. There’s been about three tImes I’ve agreed with her ever. But she is a proper politician- she works for her constituents and says what she thinks. The current lot are too afraid of standing up to starmer.

Actually the question isn't why did no one tell him but why did he need telling at all. There can't be many people in the UK that are actually surprised Mandelson failed vetting.
Mandelson and Dominic Cummins are 2 people that should be nowhere near government.

And us plebs in the public could see his dodgyness from just snippets of clips, he ooozes 'not to be trusted'. His historical resignations and dismissals should have been on Kier's radar for a start. None of this should be a surprise to him. Next he'll be furious that noone told him Santa Claus is actually a myth.

I'm willing to think Mandelson was headhunted specifically for the role.

There doesn't appear to be a way foward that isn's completely bleeping terrifying.

How did we end up here?

David Cameron to blame, I think?
Donald Trump being elected. Send a corrupt UK Ambassador to bed in at corrupt Trump's Court of Toxicity. Win win for the UK, blind eye to dodgy machinations and contacts?

Him calling for a Brexit referendum and then taking his ball home when he didn’t get the result he wanted didn’t help. He should’ve stuck it out and accepted the people’s (hasty some may say) decision.
