I recently discovered silent films and mostly prefer them to talkies.
All the genres are there and loads of talent. Having recently watched a few of Victor Sjöström, director, screenwriter and actor I've become a big fan.
Some of those early films, pre 1920 are in exceptional condition. Also some are sadly lost forever, sure I read it was 3 quarters 🙁
Some films have been restored. One I saw recently only had a small fraction of slides but was restored enough to a much greater length.
I find the actors, actresses and film making of the era fascinating and in my head live there most of the time, it's just so inspiring hence the creation of this thread.
It would be good to hear from other silent movie fans ☺

I remember watching Harold Lloyd as a kid, Buster Keaton too, the Keystone Cops etc.
Haven't revisited them in a while though tbh, I even recall the Harold Lloyd theme lol 😁
"Hooray for Harold Lloyd..."
