She's lovely! Very similar markings to my (grumpy & not so lovely) tortie, Rita.

What about a licky mat to distract her? Or some vet nurses in my area do house visits for it, not related to the vets I think they charge around £10/15 depending on which one, I've seen them post on local Facebook groups. There is also an app you can find them called zumi. I've also seen people use them boards to file down nails by training them to scratch their own nails on it for a treat. Just realised I was on the cat not dog thread so maybe the lucky mat/board training won't work as wellDoes anyone have any hacks for clipping down claws? Our girl's claws get so long and she gets stuck in fabric no matter how much she scratches on her many, many posts (and our carpets!). She lets us snip her dew claw with some ease but any of her claws you'd have to push on her pads for she hates. We've tried doing it how the vet does it by putting her on a towel and clipping but she just doesn't play ball, and I'd rather not take her to the vets to do it regularly as she gets so anxious.
I do it one by one when my cat is sleeping though my vets opinion is that it's not the best for cats as they can lose their trust with you if you sneak up on them like that. Mine is alright with it though and i juat do one or two or however many i can get till he gets too annoyed.Does anyone have any hacks for clipping down claws? Like someone else has said, I had someone come out to my house once to do my old cats nails. I found him on Facebook and he did it in my kitchen. It meant he wasnt as stressed and it was a quick job. Exactly how I do it with my boy. I wait till he's sleeping on a raised area like my bed or his cat tree, and I wait until he's in a really deep sleep, with his paws accessible and then I clip. I only manage to get 2, maybe 3 done, because it has to be while he's still in the dozy stage so I do have to do it over a few days, but it works.I do it one by one when my cat is sleeping though my vets opinion is that it's not the best for cats as they can lose their trust with you if you sneak up on them like that. Now my other cat i dont even try as i would die. A vet and a nurse+muzzle+towel is not enough to do it so i don't even attempt itluckily his ones dont get too bad anymore
She maybe doing that a lot as it’s new that’s what the buggers are like, she’ll be in the cat tree for awhile then will be back to your bed,I reckonI don't think our girl has ever slept deep enough to be able to try that
Feeling a bit sad though as we bought her a cat tree recently and since then, she's stopped sleeping in our bed! She still comes in to see us every morning but I miss her little snores from the end of the bed.
I'm banking on it for sure when it gets colder out - the cat tree is in front of the half of a sliding door you can't move and downstairs is really chilly compared to our nice warm upstairsShe maybe doing that a lot as it’s new that’s what the buggers are like, she’ll be in the cat tree for awhile then will be back to your bed,I reckon![]()
My cats don't sleep with me in summer either, they seem to spend all night just staring out of the window in the sitting room (don't let them out at night since little boy when missing last year) but they're still fascinated by whatever happens outside at nightI don't think our girl has ever slept deep enough to be able to try that

i had to do this with Freddy - I used to wait while he curled up next to me on the sofa and then pounced when he wasn't paying any attention to me. I then clipped the longest nails very quickly... i clipped as many as I could before he twigged what was happening and then got annoyed with me.Does anyone have any hacks for clipping down claws? It helped that i used to hold his little paws in my hand anyway so he was used to me stroking his beans and giving his little feetz kisses etc ( he was quite tolerant of me doing this really).
I also used to ask the vet to cut them when I took him in for a check up/jabs ( but wouldn't book him in just for this ).
