Loki giving us the cold shoulder treatment after coming home from the cattery we'd only gone away for 3 nights. But by God he's punishing us Merry meanwhile hasn't taken it personally. 😁😁

My cat is on a diet switch and steroids for IBD. We’re still getting some pukes maybe 2-4 times a week rather than daily or sometimes more than once a day. Her coat feels amazing since we switched the food and she seems to have gained a bit of weight and just generally ‘puffed up’ a bit and is looking god for her criminally expensive had cooked food. She is starving hungry and I’ve never seen her gobble the biscuits we’re giving her in such a way before, though she’s always been a greedy girl. Can’t imagine the steroids are helping her with this. She’s like the game Hungry Hippos over her little biscuit plate 🤣

Anyway, she does seem pretty good in herself but there is less poop in the litter tray and one or two more accidents. We are wondering if she is constipated. What does come out doesn’t smell like toxic waste so that’s ‘good’ for a human nose, but it’s not good if she’s struggling to go, I know cats are very clean beings so her leaving poop outside the tray or trekking it about with her will stress her out.

She’s been on katalax before which was to help move furballs through her system. But it is a gentle cat laxative. Should we mix a little of that into the food? She used to go once a day or thereabouts, but it’s more like every other day or even longer at the moment. She’s showing no signs of being in distress but it’s rare that she does. We’ve seen her drinking a decent amount from her water bowl and she likes a drink from the kitchen tap so we let her when she is in the kitchen and goes up to it. She is mostly fed wet food with a tiny amount of dry biscuits.

Does anyone's cat drink a lot or any water? Give cleo fresh water twice a day but I've never seen her drink any ever.

My little boy drinks a lot, little girl occasionally does but little boy probably goes through a glass a week. Apparently cats mainly get their water needs from their wet food

Cats can be funny with water. I barely ever see my Susan drinking yet I see Thor all the time.

Bonus, holding hands.

Both my cats drink water, probably a small glass a day. My previous cat Hari, never drank as far as I could tell despite me putting fresh water down every day.

Both of mine love their fountain but can't tell how much volume they are actually having. See them drink from it a lot though, the one that only eats dry food seems to use it slightly more.

My old cat used to drink water from a jug that was on the kitchen window for watering plants lol. But i never saw her drink as much as my current cats do.

Puffys first gotcha day. We bought him a card in the background that reminded us just of him, he is like a little cat superhero 🥰

That round little belly! Just gorgeous.
Yes bless him he is a small eater but the size of a house! Lula eats 3 times what he eats and is tiny, he only picks at food and is nearly 9kg! He’s only supposed to be around 6kg the vet said! He’s just a big round boy 😂

And the water glass (sorry, your water glass) in place of the expensive water fountain.

My old cat never drank indoors but would head straight for the most unpleasant, stale, green water in the garden.

My cat read this topic and has dictated the following:

"Now, I love Wooh more than I ever knew was possible, and she is a great person because she understands that when I chomp on her foot that is me saying "yeah!" and also she helps me retract my claws when stuck on a chair or whatever, because I didn't have a mother to teach me, and I can tell you for free, I would not let anyone else in the whole world do that. BRB, heard a packet rustling. OK, it wasn't food but I'll be ready when it is. ANYWAY and HOWEVER: don't be thinking Wooh is some angel or anything. No.

She ADDS WATER to my wet food about four times a week. Thinks I don't notice! The arrogance of her! Lots of it, too. She's always going on about "good hydration is healthy maturation, Dill." URGH, she's annoying. Might chomp her foot later but not for "love." Hahaaaaaa. Bye!"

I think I have unconsciously copied Gingerbread the cat from Facebook, some NZ comedian. So I'll look his name up to give proper credit. I did think I was being original but now I see that it's too familiar. Hang on x

Cats apparently love rain water. Mine refuse to drink from bowls, they only like (my) glasses. What this means is that the floor is littered with glasses for them and I always drink out of bottles to make sure I'm not drinking water they've drunk from 😅😅😅
