Ok ok ok I have a lot of pent up anger so bear with me here lol. Does anyone else think they Shannon is completely out of touch with reality? I feel like she has no idea how lucky she is to have the house that she is building (that most of the materials are #gifted) together with her beach house and her other rentals and the copious amounts of free shit she is sent on the daily. And the fishing, omg the fishing for free stuff all the TIME. “Furniture recommendations please lol” literally has Freedom tagged in that story. I just feel like she’s turned super greedy and wish she would remove herself from some of her PR lists like Loz Curtis did, cause who needs that much fucking stuff my word seriously what does she do with it all? And then don’t even get me started on her passive aggressive stories responses to her question boxes lately. Like her followers are the reason she’s where she is today be *grateful*. Anyway thought I’d give this thread a good spice up, enjoy

Okay so got some tea from a friend of mine who lives in New Zealand and happens to live in Palmerston north, I was face timing and she had a funny story to tell me

Her brother works for the building company who did the build on Shannon and Hamishs home. He didn't work on their house, but one of his co-workers did and he was telling him about this couple and how the husband kept driving past the house everyday. They didn't mind the husband stopping in to say Hi and seeing how things were going. But they got annoyed that the husband kept driving by the house cause they knew the cars, sometimes the husband would stop in with the range rover and some days this little car (Dunno if they still have their porche) so my friends brother told her that the wife is some famous youtuber in new zealand who does makeup and she knew straight away who it was cause her brother also told her, that his co-worker said that the house is the biggest in the lot, has a great view and that while he isn't up on the interior colour schemes, he told him that the house looked 'cold' inside little tea.

I laughed cause the fact that my friend use to follow shannon and no longer does cause she said didn't have a good experience with Hamish

I dont understand why she just can't figure it out on her own. She could just order some storage things and label them. Or find something that is her 'own' taste (as we know if her fashion sense is anything to go by) or get some inspo from pintrest. why, why does she feel the need to ask for recommendations when companies are going to email her and she will get free stuff anyway.

I used to follow her until she was gifted brand new mattresses. So many women in DV situations need furniture and this idiot who is worth millions and millions of dollars (we’re talking mega money here) and she happily took them. How about posting that you got sent new mattresses, promoting the company and then gifting them to a shelter? Nah wouldn’t do that. I can’t stand the greed of these influencers.

Where’s her appreciation for her expensive cars and house that most New Zealanders can’t afford all because she promoted some protein powder she never drank and some condoms and received a big fat check for the week? 90% of the shit in that house was free. She’s got more than enough. All influencers do.

In all fairness, there's very little clarity presently on how and where to donate to be of assistance to those impacted. Because it's still so fresh, almost any news stories/guides on how to help are more about how to access help if you're impacted.

I've been looking for ways to assist since it became clear my city had got out of it safely, and there's nothing centralised other than government as yet, I imagine even once they do get clarity it'll be regional drives. I'm having to try and just find local charities, food banks, or city missions I can find means to donate to, and I can't blame anyone for not knowing how to help yet.

I can appreciate what you’ve said 100% but I think the point the OP was getting at is that Shannon is notorious for virtue signalling. That’s the only reason she says this kind of stuffs. So she can be seen as this hugely generous person who gives back to her community who helped her scale the walls to success. But she does the bare minimum. She just sits there and accepts freebie after freebie while complaining about how stressed and busy she is along the way.

I Watched her vlog and Hamish doing the Garden.

I get it, being a new mam is hard work, you have to learn to juggle so many things while still being a new mam to a new born (well not so new born) and sometimes you can't get ontop of everything, People judge her, because she was gifted sooooo many things when she was pregnant and after she had Porter (who by the way is just too cute) in a sense in that department of getting things for Porter she hasn't struggled. I get she is firmly aware of how lucky she is, and that her job is being a 'beauty guru'..

it's the fact, that she doesn't get it. She says she does, but she doesn't.

Where I work, I talk to a lot of new mams who are currently struggling to buy nappies, cause they have to pay the bills, rent first so they have roof over their head.. and shannon got gifted a whole bunch of nappies for each age that porter will be, the new mams who come into the hospital for their support group are struggling to make ends meet, they have to borrow money off their parents, they have to rashen out the food, to be able to feed their kids and the new born, some of new mams don't eat a lot of the time cause they want to make sure their kids and partner eat.
Parents who are stressed and tired because they aren't sure how they will feed their kids, or if they will have a roof over their head in weeks time.

so while Shannon is stressed and tired, moaning about how people judge her, she should maybe educate herself a bit more on how other new mams, are struggling just to have the energy to be able to moan. When they just get on with it.
sure she can donate stuff, but her two main charities are RSPCA and Womens Refugee, which is great!!! I have to say, while she only donates Money, clothes, makeup... she hasn't actually left her house to go to events that these two charities hold to raise money.

Sorry about the Rant guys, after watching those two vlogs I just felt for the people who come into the hospital that I work in, who come to support groups, who talk to us about having to survive on a bowl of cereal, who ask for handouts from the welfare here and sometimes are declined.

This is SO well worded, and is what I constantly think whenever I see Shannon moaning about a privileged problem she has. She just needs some perspective in her life. Greed is absolutely disgusting.

She’s SO messy and keeps her house so dirty it’s actually disgusting !!! And no, she can’t play the “mum card” she was like this pre baby too. So incredibly lazy, always has been. The state her house gets in is actually revolting. Says ALOT about her- without a 9-5 job- works from home and can’t even keep her house tidy.
