Marketplace has got to attract the weirdest people ever. I’m selling a sideboard and the title is the same as the item on the actual website including the brand. Also repeated in the description. I’ve also put every single bit of detail in the description. Height, length depth. Individual drawer and cupboard dimensions etc. etc. I’ve had 15 people message me and 11 of them have asked “how big is this”, “would a folder fit in the cupboard”, “how big is the drawer”, “where is this from” etc. etc. I’m not sure why I bother taking so much time to write a full description anymore.
I'd have 'see description' in copy and paste. Usually you get a lot of 'can you deliver' where you've clearly stated collection only.
They're not weird they're just mats!

I bought a Me&Em jumper a few weeks ago and today saw the exact same jumper being sold as Sézane. I’ve seen quite a few similar items like this so I reported it to Vinted because obviously someone is selling fake stuff. Vinted’s response? Apparently, it’s not against their guidelines. Ffs.
There are a lot of fake me+em and sezane items. There was a woman on vinted spreading awareness. This woman was letting vinted know, but I don’t think they cared.

I’m waiting for the delivery question lol. I’ve stopped replying to questions. If they want it bad enough I presume they’ll go back and maybe read it not that I particularly want to sell to them.

I had 'will it fit in my car' ? today. How the hell should I know ? It could be a mini or a tank you drive.

Thanks, that’s good to know. I have both brands on my watch list and have picked up some great bargains (not fakes!) in the past but I’ve definitely noticed an uptick of particularly knitwear which is competitively priced but BNWT.

In other news, the parcel which InPost kept prevaricating over and had been MIA for nearly a month, they finally messaged me to say it was lost and they were issuing a refund. Can you guess what arrived today?

This is actually the first time I've had any issue with them thankfully! (I know I'm in the minority there)

I find that they usually take 3-4 days to deliver locker to locker. I'm on the 6th day now 😅
The lockers near me are constantly full, so they are meant to try again the never do 🙄

They do this on Vinted though too, they do not read anything. I paid to bump a item,it immediately sold. Few minutes later she cancelled it,saying wrong size. The size was written in the main headline,on the listing and a picture of the tag inside. I checked her feedback and suprise, surprise she has cancelled loads of her orders.

There are loads of this product on there I’m guessing because like me, it was unwanted from a beauty advent calendar. There are a few that are cheaper than I’d priced it, including one on for closer to the price they offered me albeit none *that* low but the photos look really odd. Go and bother someone else love, you’re selling allegedly lightly worn clothes on Vinted that I’d use to clean the windows with so… 💅
4 more stupid offers - one person is selling a pair of Shein leggings in ‘good’ condition for more than they offered me, and a pair of used kids dungarees (18-24m) for twice what they’ve offered. This is what doesn’t make sense to me.

I have 25 percent discount on bundles and I still constantly get lower offers,it's just ridiculous. No point in having it on tbh

I sold a set of baby socks, brand new, all still tagged up from M&S for £2. The buyer bartered me down from £3 but whatever.

I posted the next day and she just didn’t collect them. Then sent me a message saying her baby was ill and that she would rebuy them. Didn’t believe the story or that she’d buy them again. She hassled me to mark them as received. The cheek. So I listed them again and she rebought them. Then got the 24 hours left warning from InPost. So I messaged her to remind her and she collected them quite a while later. Then left it to autocomplete. The bleeping cheek.

Asking myself if it was all worth it for £2.

I need to make the difficult decision to sell all of my children’s clothes now. I want to keep nice outfits for memories or maybe to pass down. I’d also like to make a memory quilt so want to keep some less expensive or nice clothes like babygrows and tops which would be cut up.

But how much is reasonable to keep? I need to be ruthless and as I have one of each, I basically have double the clothes as their sizes vs seasons didn’t match up and the boy doesn’t wear any very girly hand me downs like dresses.

I’ve kept one newborn babygrow for their memory boxes and a lovely tiny jumper. I am terribly sentimental, but realised that I have a lot of photos and that will be the way I have a memory of an outfit rather than keeping the actual item. My mum never willingly throws anything away and so I’ve inherited lots of mine and my siblings old clothes but some of the stuff really wasn’t wearable either because it looked dated, or some of the functionality wasn’t practical, elastic had perished etc. Then I had guilt about getting rid of it!

I have 2 boys, the first was a much less messy eater than the second (mainly as he has always barely eaten anything) so I had a lot of clothes I could reuse and have been finding what I have left to resell is much less now, but when you’re getting pennies for stuff that is really lovely, I’m just letting the younger one wear it to death rather than keep it to sell as a priority.

I would suggest trying to be sensible about what you can practically keep, and what will age well. Lakeland do some really good moth/dust proof resealable clothes bags that I use for storage that also keep things moisture and smell free.

@GinaLianosdeckofcards I took a leaf out of your book and decided to update my listing attracting stupid offers to say it was priced fairly and I wouldn’t be accepting stupid offers. Woke up to 2 more - 40% off and 37.5% off my price which is already less than 50% of the retail price. Think I’m going to have to put the price up 😂

I am just putting some bundles on and if they don't go for £2 for 10 items lol I am giving up. It's so odd though because my daughter in-law sells loads and her prices are high imo,I just can't seem to find a balance at all

Been told my item is ready to collect but when I got to the Post Office it wasn’t there and they had no delivery today. She checked my surname on the computer.
Is this just a glitch?
Should I just wait a bit?
weird

Thanks that’s exactly it. Definitely no more children for me, sadly. I’ve no issues getting rid of things like the practical stuff and the clothing basics. But I’ve got a massive problem with the thought of selling/giving away clothes.

You’re right, photos are better. Maybe I should finally print off a photo album!

This is spurring me on to go through all the summer stuff in advance and list all the outgrown items.
