I really miss the Quiz, and the Birthday Game. I am fond of Gary but Scott did make waking up easier as he was quite hyper!
I just have a feeling they’ll want to keep an already established BBC2 name in the breakfast slot if they can and that the mid-morning slot Vern currently has is less of a coup than breakfast (imo), so possibly easier to fill.
I don't know Clara Amfo or Greg and tbh, I don’t really mind whether they’re male or female ... I just want someone decent who has a (preferably radio) presenter background and isn’t completely in love with the sound of their own voice. Oh and I'm sick of comedians.

On The Rest is entertainment last week they implied they couldn't talk about it - not that they didn't want to, but that they were prevented from doing so. so maybe talk of an injunction isn't too far away from the truth.

Again, don't really know Nick Grimshaw (have never listened to Radio 1 or 6). Is he any good? I like the idea as he's a presenter already and I know he was/is well liked.
Or because Richard wants to maintain his good relationship with the BBC he’s kept his mouth quiet! Is he still a BBC employee? Even though he isn’t doing house of games anymore?
I didn't like him much in R1 but I enjoy him on 6 quite a bit, I could see him doing the R2 show.

I'd imagine that's simply because it's a legal minefield for them to talk about. Any speculation or discussion opens them up to a possible defamation lawsuit, and they've got nothing to gain from it.
Plus there's a not-insignificant chance they know him on a more personal level given that they've moved in similar circles for years (and I'm pretty sure Mills was on Pointless Celebrities a few times) so they probably don't feel appropriate or comfortable commenting either. Like I know a lot of people like that podcast but they're still involved in the industry and they will still have industry friends and contacts from over the years, so they're not exactly impartial.
I think the other way around. Matt and Molly are cheerful and cheesy enough for Radio 2. Greg's music taste and sense of humour is way more radio 1
You could be on to something, those two would be a good shout for Radio 2 breakfast. Two really decent people you would never have to worry about and would freshen up the station as they don't do double or triple acts like Radio 1 do.

If they think Greg James is a risk, wait and see what happens to the listener figures if OJ Borg gets it. At least Greg is known to millions. OJ has a niche following from the night shift crew.
