Scott Mills #2

Sam has posted an anniversary post. Comments so far from Rylan, Zoe, Sara and Katie Thistleton. There is clearly still a lot of love from friends and colleagues.
Really surprised that Sara and Rylan commented, I know they were close beforehand but I assumed given they still work for R2 that they'd have been told to have no public association with Scott.

Could R2 really insist upon who they can/cannot befriend?

I wouldn't have thought so.

I miss his show soon. Scott, you stupid man. 😞

Yes Sara Cox and Rylan probably the main close associates that have commented.. surprised not to see anything from Ellie Brennan or Sam Ryder… this was an opportunity for any friends to show their support publicly as I think it’s far enough away that the BBC can’t do anything and there’s not as many as I was expecting.

Becky for his old radio 1 show commented, as did Whispering Bob, judge rinder and Natalie Cassidy. Also Joel Corry who played at their wedding. Just seen that Sam Ryders girlfriend has too so sounds like lots of people are supporting them.

Wasnt the incident many years prior to radio 1?I think he will comeback. He is popular likable. I think like Ant n Dec people tolerate the familiar but SM is nice and chirpy man.

Not on who they privately befriend, but I think it'd be looked upon poorly if they are seen publicly interacting with a former colleague who was sacked under the circumstances he was.

BBC stars Zoe Ball, Sara Cox and Rylan Clark show public support for Scott Mills' husband Sam Vaughan for the first time as he returns to social media two months after the DJ's sacking | Daily Mail Online

Not up to your boss who you're friends with. Lovely to see so much support. The pair of them will know now who their absolute best friends are, as some will have quietly disassociated themselves with Scott and Sam.

I think the most compelling evidence is Scott’s dismissal statement.

Rylan is Scott’s pal and he is supportive and loyal to him.

Rylan does seem like a nice dude but who knows his motivation for speaking in apparent support of Scott.

TV is a fickle world, didn’t Rylan used to be bezzy pals with KP?
And Lucy Spraggan during the X Factor days.

Why are his friends and his fans acting like Scott is a victim? I'm genuinely confused.
Exactly, you don't see people bemoaning the disappearance of Schofe and Huw Edwards - posters may have enjoyed SM's radio show but it appears he had a relationship with a child, he's as much as admitted it. He can stay dissappeared imo 🙄

Yeah I’m wondering what the support is supposedly meant to mean, because if he was involved with a minor it’s not like he would tell his mates is it! So they know no more than the rest of us.

The anniversary post is on Sam's Instagram made by Sam. The celebs we mentioned are supporting Sam although in doing so potentially also offering support to Scott.

Presumably because there was an allegation years ago which was investigated by police and there wasn’t the evidence to prosecute, which got him sacked, out of the blue, recently and he claims the BBC knew all about it for years.

There isn’t a specific crime, it’s one allegation, and since there isn’t any other info , nobody knows whether to cancel him and write him off or not yet, it’s still possible he hasn’t done anything wrong.

He lost his career because of something that hasn't been proven and he has never been charged of arrested for.

It's a dangerous thing that a livelihood can be wrecked so easily.

Nobody else has come out of the woodwork.

We wouldn't necessarily know if any other potential victims had come forward though, if that's what you mean. Describing them as coming "out of the woodwork" shows quite an unpleasant attitude towards victims of crime.
Likewise, we don't know for sure why he lost his career. It seems to have related to the allegations of serious sexual assault on a child under the age of 16, however the BBC haven't elaborated on this further than saying that this was in light of new information being brought to them.

Regardless of Scott, Sam has been through hell in the last few months and it's nice to see his friends sticking by him. I suspect they know more than we do about the allegations but I also suspect the BBC did absolutely the right thing in sacking him. Both can be true.

There doesn't have to be more than one victim affected for an offence to have been committed.

I don't have a problem saying I miss Scott's show. I do. It doesn't mean that I'm somehow condoning whatever it is he has done. I'm sure there are people who miss Scott and Holly on This Morning, or Huw's news reading. It doesn't mean you think they should still be in position!

I actually do miss Huw reading the news in the sense that
-I liked it when I didn’t know he was pure evil
-he was convincingly affable to watch
-plus reminded me of an old welsh friend

That doesn’t mean I forgive him/minimise what he did/don’t care about his victims/think he is great. The thought of him makes me ill. But I did used to like him reading the news.

Huw was good at his job, that doesn't change because of what he did.
Personally I didn't really like Scott Mills but the same applies.
