I have a ducked spine and neuropathic pain , working full time and parenting. I'm drowning at the minute with bleeping school these are the events colour run , which I had to sit on a hard chair , school play x 2 on benches with no back. Sports day no seats today , tonight disco at 7 and they want parents to go. I'm in work over the weekend 12.5 hour shifts both days. Garden party on Monday for head teacher leaving and Tuesday (which I will miss cause of work ) leavers assembly at 9.30 am. Is anyone worn out with it all? I feel like a tit mum 😩

Don’t feel like tit over it. You’re human and it sounds like you go to a lot. How will your kids cope if you run yourself completely into the ground? You can’t do everything.
I’m exhausted too. My kids just finished. You’re not alone!

Don't worry. I feel like I'm a tit mum at these events all the time. I always try to attend, but I just find them all so boring and tedious. I feel like I'm the only one not enjoying it. All mine are at different Key Stages, so I often have to attend the same event two or three times, depending on how they split the year groups.

I make the effort for my children and smile and wave, and tell them how well they did afterwards, but there's only so many times you can watch kids trying and failing to throw bean bags into hoops.

I’m a teacher, so I miss almost all of my child’s school events. I have felt like a tit mum on many occasions. The constant requirement to make sure someone is there to support my boy at these events (and yes some are tedious and boring), is so stressful. I live on an area where most of the mums are housewives, they tone they take with me when I tell them my kids are in wrap around care and I don’t turn up to events 🤣 but I’m with the original poster on this, it’s hard to keep up and the guilt kicks in. There are lots of mums who feel this way, you’re certainly not alone.

Edit: also they drop events on you a few days before. Oh btw it’s French day on Thursday, they’ll students need to wear red, white and blue… errr ok best make a trip to Next🤦🏼‍♀️

Pls contact the school as they should be able to make adjustments for you to at least be comfortable whilst you’re bored shitless by it all 😂❤
