I didnt say she was guilty I said she was arrested and bailedAn arrest on suspicion of a crime isn’t the same as being found guilty

He won’t plea anything today. It’s hard to say how long it will take there’s a huge back log in the criminal justice system atm made worse by covid. I hope he pleas guilty so it’s over but means her family may never find out what happened. Equally enduring a very public court case is not easy!Assuming he pleads not guilty, how soon would his trial be?
There’s the issue that whatever happens and whatever monitoring they give him is not enough and he genuinely ends up either dead or unfit for trial
Exactly. He was going to work as if nothing had happened in the days after. How can you do that knowing what you’d doneSorry he got caught but nothing else I'm sure.![]()
Well I’m guessing the 50 Shades series of books might have had something to do with those attitudes.I agree with tougher sentences. Especially for domestic violence related crimes. They’re very low, hence why perpetrators tend to continue to commit them because they see that they don’t get punished.
I also personally think prison should be more of a punishment - I obviously don’t think it’s a walk in the park.
but i would totally reform the entire thing & look at legalising drugs etc so that’s a whole different story.
just touching upon the porn thing that’s been mentioned & before all this I saw a series of discussions on Twitter & tiktok at how “violent” sex such as sex involving hitting/choking/hair pulling etc is becoming the norm to young people & that “vanilla” sex is something that is mocked or people are seen as awful if they just enjoy that. And honestly that made me so so so sad. Sex should be about what you’re both comfortable with& its Frightening what the younger ones feel is an expectation.
again, off topic sorry x
If the evidence isn't there they won't be convicted that's why the police are still out scouring those woods to gather as much as possible if there's a reasonable doubt then he'll get off scott free .The verdict should only be based on the evidence you have in front of you. People online saying they know this or that (which is what contempt usually is) and you believing it is likely to make a difference, especially if the evidence isn't 'strong'.
There's obviously a difference between speculation and personal opinions because they're just that. The media or some social media post saying that 'oh drugs were probably involved because they were a drug user' (something I have personally seen recently in a local case of murder) is different from a person just saying (i think drugs were involved because that's typical for our town).
Ok poorly phrased on my part. I meant he didn’t go to prison immediately after the trial. He did indeed receive a sentence. Whether it is sufficient or deemed to be justice I guess will be open to different perspectives. I’m not saying the magistrate got the sentence wrong either as they will be bound by the guidelines which you’ve linked to. I just think it shows the complexity in getting the sentence (within those legal parameters) right as some people will want harsher i.e. straight to prison and some people will lean towards rehabilitation and manage him in the community because locking people up doesn’t work.I’ve read the article you’ve linked where you said he got ‘let off’. Did you read to the end of the article where it said he got a six month sentence, suspended for 2 years, 250 hours of community service and he has to sign on the sex offenders register for 7 years!!!?
FYI
Suspended sentences

Thank you for pointing this out.Sounds as though you work in healthcare/mental health, in which case you should absolutely not be giving out patient info like this. Shocking.
Exactly. Nothing like that has been confirmed from this case.3 murderers / serial killers that are now living behind the mask amongst us .
The statement transcriptions online don't mention it and seem to be from the day they found human remainsDame Cressida Dick on her announcement of the remains found did say it will take some time to identify them due to the condition I’m sure she did
Wasn't saying otherwise. No ,there's no stereotypical mask to a murderer it can be anyone .
The judge would put a blanket ban on all reporting of the case .Also the things is everyone will have opinion on the case because it’s been in the NATIONAL news, can’t say a lot of people will come here for it, I would say most of us use other things, plus judges decide what can and can’t be used so![]()
