I’m replying on this as I’m only back to delete the account I set up and am unsure if message would show after I do it.

I think it’s fair to say this is not the space for me - yes, folk are entitled to express their opinions but I’ve personally found this thread to be quite visceral in some of its posting and unnecessary commentary. I genuinely found this site after searching about the griefcast Sali did recently. I’m Glaswegian, I loved Camera Obscura and enjoy hearing about Carey, nothing cynical in it.

It’s quite easy to get carried away with criticisms when they’re posted anonymously and I’d rather not do that.

I don’t know. You said it. I’m not sure what you’re problem is but my comment following yours was in agreement and continuing the narrative on how bizarre it is to call a diet camp a writing retreat. A topic that I brought up in the first place.

She’s the only one I heard saying it was a retreat for writers. A lot of journos do go there, but apparently Sali has translated it into a writers’ retreat, and she is humourless. I was not agreeing with her. I’m sure many of the trips there are #gifted, but I’ve not seen anyone declaring that fact yet. It wasn’t apparent to me at first that you agreed with me. I don’t think any of them would agree with the term diet camp. A severe health spa would be a better term.

Agreed! I remember her replying to someone on Instagram along the lines of watch this space in regards to recipes being part of her next book. So I was surprised when she released this one about the Queen. It could be like others have said and she saw an opportunity to cash in on the monarchy so ended up working on this book first.

I think CH was more likeable/relatable when she used to blog from her house. She now has an office and assistants and seems full of her own importance and is doing lots of paid ads and the money must be rolling in.
