Pah! Dan doesn’t have the charisma or talent for a career in tv, not that that stops many people anyway (hello Holly, Phil, Amanda Holden et al) but Dan is annoying!

I bet he was so pissed off he chose his mum to be on Gogglebox, that could’ve been his big break & maybe the beginning of the end for the two of them... perhaps that’s why he really left the show?

He's always chased me as fame hungry Rylan seems less so tbh

I love Rylan too. I love his radio show - it’s one of my favourites and throughout lockdown etc it’s one of the few things that’s made me feel calm and relaxed; like being with friends! He’s a natural.

I was talking to my dad about him recently actually and said that Rylan really has that “star quality”— hard to quantify, but whatever it is, he’s got it. I think he’ll have a long career and it seems like whatever he does (interviewing, presenting, radio, adverts!) he does a great job.

Oh, I just remembered I’ve got a Rylan behind the scenes story! A friend of mine was in the audience for a recording of Ready Steady Cook. It took 4 hours per episode and she (and her mum) were there for 2 episodes. She said that between takes and breaks etc, Rylan was in the audience chatting to people (pre covid, obviously!) and just generally lovely, funny and kind!

My inlaws were over on the weekend & we were discussing the sad news of Ken Bruce leaving R2. My FIL who is late 70's piped up how much he loves Rylan. I showed them the Patrice videos!

Very proud to share an alma mater with old Rylan. Now all this business is threatening the HollynPhil partnership over on This Morning I would love to see Rylan with a more regular gig over there. In fact my ideal would be Eamon and Ruth Mon-Thurs and Rylan and Alison on a Friday.

My thoughts too, would love to see him and Alison on the sofa. I tuned in on Friday and managed ten minutes before switching it off. I really used to like Dermot but find him a bit drab now. Rylan would be brilliant presenting any old show though, really make it his own.

Rylans episode on Louis Theroux's podcast is really really good. I didn't know much about him really other than xfactor and his presenting work and that I found him funny and likeable, but he came across as being smart, articulate and genuine. I can't remember exactly but he did allude to some mental health stuff. I think he said he doesn't really leave his house other than to go to work, and even then his brother is his driver so he literally just goes to work and home. Almost like he's got functioning agrophobia. He can get to work but he doesn't go shopping, out for dinner, to other people's houses etc. Definitely some anxiety and mental health stuff there. He seems lovely, sad for him with the end of his relationship so hope he gets better and gets back to work soon.

I thought the same, some mental health issues. Lockdown seemed to suit him, he could broadcast his radio show from home.

I’ve just read on the daily fail that apparently rylan wanted kids but Dan didn’t and Dan’s desperation for a TV career has caused arguments

Even the BBC are keeping quiet. I only realised he wasn't doing his show when I tuned in and heard Vernon Kay, I thought Id got the wrong station anyway I dont mind Vernon he was quite funny yesterday.
