I just saw this, but I have not been following Russell. I honestly didn't know this was going on, however, he has always come across creepy. Can one of you lovely tattlers please give me a one sentence summary to catch me up?
Short version.

First part of RBs career, apparent sex addiction, but all the women were consenting, except the ones that weren't. Any accusations were ignored or covered up, as currently famous and producing income. Just ha ha that's Russell for you.

Part 2. Relaunches himself as a lefty guru who supports women, becomes increasingly insignificant.

Part 3. Another relaunch. Family man and spiritual guru. Went all media conspiracy and sheeple. I think this where it started to go seriously wrong. Prominent enough to be of interest, but his alt stance meant he had lost his protectors.

TV company does a well researched and documented expose. Panic sets in. A rambling Forgive them for they know not what they they do response fails to hit the mark. Leading to another relaunch.

Christian god fearing RB. Public baptism conducted by another media prick.. Apparently washed away all his sins, so that was all right. Now living with in America MAGA etc apparently with his wife

Charges have been considered for ages, now CPS are ready.

Couldn't happen to a nicer bloke.

What do you mean ‘the scene was gross back then’ ? What else went on?
The Camden scene in general I mean, lots of men who liked to take advantage of woman who were drunk, high or both, lots of hangers ons with people like Amy Winehouse or Pete Doherty etc (whatever you think of them, the amount of people who would try to worm their way into getting close to them just because they thought they deserved it or were the best fans). There was a lot of sleeze, indie boy band wannabes who would go around pretending to be something they weren't just to get girls (or guys), which might sound like a common thing. It does happen everywhere yes, but Camden was where we all went for the obscure and weird and wonderful.
There was an influx of these people who didn't even know any indie bands and just went there to do this stuff (even spiking drinks) just because they wanted to say they'd been with someone alternative. Like it was for point scoring with their mates. Obviously there was Brand who had a massive entourage of woman and he was absolutely vile. He didn't care who knew it and he would actively encourage other guys to do the same, behave like he did towards woman. He disguised his behaviour as comedy or used his big words to deliberately confuse or make like he was joking
His fans lapped it up. Some of them were barely 16, which we tried to control. We tried to steer these girls away from him but some of those girls I don't think realised how horrific he was being.

Back then, there was a ladette culture going on too. If you can't beat them join them vibe. Or when girls would go along with male banter, which actually degraded woman, so they wouldn't be seen as not being able to take a joke. Brand absolutely zoned in on that. Same way he zoned in on younger fans who would be more vulnerable to him. But some of the girls were obsessed (I am in no way blaming them whatsoever, I simply mean it was harder to steer them away because they wanted to be around him so much). He made himself accessible to them deliberately. He was called the pied piper of Camden, but it would be a line of woman behind him. And so many men would copy his approach.

I cannot be a hypocrite about drug use at all, despite being clean now without relapse so far (15 years clean), drug use was absolutely rife. Camden is the place to go for drugs. It always has been. Back then they were absolutely flowing in a free for all. And nobody knew what they were cut with. Nobody cared either. Parties would go on for hours and afters carried on long into the following day. Then you'd go out that evening and carry on. People would barely come down before they went back out. And there would be scummy men who would do all kinds and blame the drugs, even though they didn't take much, if any, at all, so they could get away with their behaviour. Stuff like that went on so much back then.

So much was happening at the time there with music, comedy, entertainment, boosh, bands like libs, razor light etc. of course Amy, and obviously Brand, so much new talent was happening, fans would flock there and many would end up getting taken advantage of. I don't know, I have such fond memories of that time, I loved so much of my time there. But I cannot ignore the horrible stuff and awful things that happened either. Camden holds some of the best and worst times of my life and I know there are many, many others from that scene who feel the same.

Edited - sorry for how long this turned out to be, I didn't intend to write a damn novel. 😂

I don't believe the rape allegations. I do believe he's a total ass to women. He treated them badly and used them for sex. I don't believe he would have forced anyone though.
What do they have to gain by lying?

He is a predator.

Funny how celebs and the media will only ever represent tattle as a big evil when it's always been ahead of the curve with shady celebs and grifting influencers.

Why do you think multiple women are lying and RB is telling the truth?

Eww the comments on his FB response 😡🤢🤮
Just watched RB on YouTube.

The cunt has done it everything I predicted, - oh yes I was a naughty boy and a sex addict before I became a family man and a christian, ha ha that's my beautiful family is over there ,but everything was consensual. But now I have discovered God, praise the lord, and isn't the UK government corrupt . Praise the lord. And I welcome the chance to prove my innocence, praise the lord.

I'd claim psychic powers or deep insight, but it was all so fucking predictable.

It makes you wonder what people like Bear Grylls knew, given that he baptised him not so long ago. I think I said before that BG is the Alpha Course’s golden boy, so nice strong ties back to Holy Trinity Brompton / Justin Welby (who fortuitously is no longer the ABC). I’m by no means a conspiracy theorist… but my god.
Yeah I wondered about that too. Who else has been supporting him recently I wonder 🤔

He's saying that these charges are led by Starmer and Britain's corrupt government and judicial system whilst wearing a MAGA hat in Trump Land. He's gone from progressive lefty to religious conversion and right wing shill in a heartbeat, all to save himself. I knew he was a wrong un but not quite how amoral he is. What a hideous cunt. Hope more revelations keep coming.

Just love the way he dropped in he is a family man with daughters. Who the fuck told him that was a good idea?
Probably so people will think "he can't be rapey, he's a father of daughters!"
Stupid man. He's exactly the kind of man we warn our daughters about.

Why is Piers M even giving him the opportunity to prattle on?
I asked myself that as well, but the clip of Brand frantically searching for that passage with Morgan's facial expressions, is tv gold. I don't like Morgan but his use of silence in those seconds was pure genius. Coupled with his looks to the camera, it was two of the most excruciatingly awkward, but at the same time, stunningly effective minutes of an interview that I've ever seen. It showed Brand up as nothing but a despicable charlatan.

I truly hope that he gets what he deserves in his trial. He is monstrous.

Katy Perry was just a steeping stone for Brand to launch himself in the US.
Except he was clearly unprepared for how much it was going to bruise his narcissistic ego to be seen as Mr Katy Perry since she became one of THE global megastars during their relationship (2009-2011). Like Teenage Dream released and became a huge record-breaking hit, she was literally rivaling Michael Jackson in terms of #1 songs from one album, she was making millions on a massive worldwide tour, had her own perfumes, was one of THE most followwed Twitter accounts in the world (before it went to shit) AND she was voicing Smurfette in The Smurfs movie.

Meanwhile he was starring as a manchild alcoholic in a remake of Arthur that bombed (to the point it doesn't even merit a sentence on Greta Gerwig's Wikipedia) and his biggest role at the time was voicing an irritating wannabe-rockstar CGI rabbit 😅

They got engaged on NYE 2009 after just a couple months dating. I think he fully expected to whittle her down, put her then notable-but-not-massive pop career on hold to be his trophy wife and have his babies, while he'd become this big Hollywood star. He just didn't forsee her career going stratospheric and that he'd be the one taking the backseat even at the height of his success. So then he flipflopped to be Mr 'Fame is so vapid and capitalistic, I'm an anti-establishment socialist activist now (buy my book)'

Katherine Ryan popped into my head. She must be delighted, amongst many others in the industry who knew he was a predator.
