Yeah it's sad to see rugby declining in general (at least where I am - the amatuer local teams are really struggling, 20 years ago you'd have 5 X teams now they struggle to get a first team together) but Wales is on another level. Such a proud, passionate nation there must be something that can be done! Maybe the teams should join the premiership? Not sure if that would help but something needs to be done!i’ll have to give it a listen too!
@RandomUser12345 - you mentioning neath v ponty has made me emotionalthe place used to be absolutely rocking! it’s such a shame that pontypridd (like so many proud valley towns) now has absolutely no regional representation. the wru only ever really wanted cardiff and llanelli in there and now look what’s happened. i hate when commentators try to say the scarletts have a 50 year history. depressing 🥲

the main issue really is that the wru are running low on funds (for many reasons!) and, if attendance at the internationals continues to be so low, that’s only going to get worse. the lack of funding just falls through all levels and then it just isn’t an attractive prospect to younger players.i don’t even really know what the answer is. there’s no big personality to step in and take over (either as wru boss or coach). there’s very little star players. dan biggar was right when he said that the team SHOULD have gone through with the planned strike last year tbh. i don’t see how we get out of it
It is a massive issue right now. We all benefit from there being a strong Wales team so I hope someone,.somewhere can at least try and get a grip of it and try new things.i don’t know if they have the money tbh

I’ll be honest, it would never work joining English rugby. And I’m an English woman who is cursing the WRU for losing what you had!
The RFU is equally if not more selfish and to sanction anything it would cost. an the money wouldn’t develop the tiers below on either side. We only had to see the cuts to the English second tier and them be hung out to dry in .
Wales would be a filter school for players, and the money would be weighted. It’s well known that certain clubs don’t survive the prem because they are not in the gang. Rotherham’s dn Leeds the last real Yorkshire clubs up were killed off by it all. You only have to look at how they are treating Worcester compared to solvent champ clubs, as they are founders.
I don’t know the answer, but Bill Sweeneys pocket isn’t it.

I’d love to see who the ospreys group are- I can guess a lot. It’s gutting that as a group of players and fans there’s not enough money there to buy Y11 out and leave them up tit creek

Yeah I guess logistically it wouldn't work - I hate the English system too in some ways. Ealing should have been allowed to be promoted ages ago. Why not expand the league when Worcester and London Irish went? Regardless of capacity issues in stadium's etc, that would come with exposure in the prem and snowballing into more revenue to upgrade etc.
Rugby just seems so out of touch. I know Mike Tindall was on about doing his own league thing which I don't think is the answer either but something has to be done!

What a cracker of a game in Lille yesterday. Lovely atmosphere, covered stadium thankfully as it chucked it down, and great rugby. Italy are playing really well this season.
