I just watched her Week in My Life video. Apparently "vegan picnic-ing" is a hobby, as opposed to simply just "picnic-ing". It's still a picnic, Ruby.

I can see how you’d think that, but there are some crucial differences. First off, VEEGAN picnics are a lot louder, because everybody needs to know they’re VEEGAN. Secondly, every time you go on one, you’re entitled to fly anywhere in the world a total of 16 times because that’s how efficient performative plant-eating is in offsetting your carbon footprint. Ruby and Jade were both due for a reset so Sixteenth kindly organised a playdate for them.

She said in her tiktok today that she bought these cardigans a year ago but then sent the black one back BUT she has a video from just over a month ago where she’s wearing that same black cardigan, so she either wore the cardigan and still sent it back () or she just put it on for the video and didn’t actually wear this outfit that day. I assume it’s the latter (as I’m sure most of her OOTDs are just her playing dress up anyway and she doesn’t actually wear them) but I wouldn’t put the former past her either. It also means this OOTD is probably from a year ago. Or maybe she never returned the cardigan at all and kept it all along. Ugh my head hurts from trying to keep track of all the lies. How can one person lie so much and for literally no reason? I genuinely cannot wrap my head around it.

Starting off a video acting huffy and with a chip on her shoulder is definitely a great look for someone trying to convince people to fork over £18.50+P&P for a pile of shit.

She claims she uses her planner daily for 4 years, yet still struggles to find any that have been used consistently outside of advertisements and the same planner pages always crop up again and again.

She's clearly aware that people know she doesn't use it and yet can't be bothered to either fess up or make the lies convincing and thought that committing to filling out a few fake pages in a row ahead of filming this video would sell her bullshit.

I don't know why anyone would buy what she's selling, figuratively or literally. Just endless lies to try to sell naïve children some overpriced trash that Ruby doesn't use herself.

The planner's literally only just launched and already she's telling customers that they'll be late.

And in a truly impressive feat of lazy incompetence, the listing page has the description for last year's planner by mistake, claiming the new one to have a woodland theme and illustrations from someone who's not Ruby.

They've had a whole year to plan for this and she couldn't be bothered to double-check the listing before it went live. Just staggering how she fucks up so much, so often.

I think it’s interesting that Ruby’s life is described throughout these threads as sheltered, “narrow”, etc. I’m not sure how true that is? Part of that perspective on Ruby is her own portrayal of herself - she wants to seem sheltered and even “unworldly”, because it makes her special and gives the perfect explanation for her behaviours.

But her background is very privileged and she hasn’t been constrained in her activities by any particular cultural factor (e.g. fundamentalist religion). She has always had access to education, cultural opportunities, travel, sports, and a wealth of material goods. She did multiple extra curricular activities. She travelled repeatedly to London for extra cultural activities to bolster her Oxford application. She was fully supported in her ambitions. She was well-regarded by her school and selected as head girl.

She went to a good university and, yes, did get a first-class degree. She did live away from her parents, as much as we may criticise the details of how she handled Covid. And she became a successful content creator as a teenager - that is her real job. The finances tell their own tale.

She owns property. She is, yes, late learning to drive - but that’s relatively more common now in the wake of Covid, which itself affected driving lesson availability. She is monied enough that it’s understandable it wasn’t her priority. She has now travelled fairly extensively in Europe, albeit without ever going off the beaten track, and she has been to the US - she’s no adventurer, but I don’t think this can be considered a narrow life when many are unable to afford travel at all. Most forms of “adventurous” and “authentic” travel are ultimately fairly fabricated also.

She has hobbies, does sport for pleasure, struggles with mental health issues, sees a therapist, reads, is pursuing graduate education, writes, and continues with her job. Several of her family members are also struggling - she doesn’t focus on that in her content but surely it affects her. Her life isn’t perfect because nobody’s life is.

Believe me, it feels weird to write essentially a “defence” of Ruby when I’m normally very critical of her. I think she’s a deeply troubled person producing harmful content, and nothing I’ve said here changes my take on that. But I think she’s just…experienced what she’s experienced. Her life isn’t inherently narrow because she hasn’t been on a load of dates or gone backpacking in Thailand. She isn’t necessarily sheltered because she pretends to be (especially not if there is indeed alcoholism in her immediate family). A lot of what she posts is always, really, a performance imo.

I think when people say she's sheltered they mean that she has no clue how normal people outside of her tiny little bubble live. Not that she hasn't had life experiences.
I mean this is someone who thinks it's normal and relatable to book a trip to Venice to get over writer's block. She's never had to pay bills or do anything by herself. When she moved to Exeter and was on her own for the first time she panicked and went straight back to mommy and daddy as soon as she could.

I know, we have been over this a thousand times, but the state of her nails in this video freaks me out. I am far from demanding perfectly polished nails on a day to day basis or even for any other video where her nails are just a side character. Nail polish should be fun, it can be a fuss to upkeep and honestly, for most occasions the state of your nails wouldn’t interest me the least. But for the love of god, if half of your shots are closeup that are meant to be aesthetically pleasing (because there is no other reason to show her putting stickers on things - it’s just about pleasing pictures), then get your act together. Just take the polish of, choose a shade that isn’t as noticeably shabby when chipped or simply redo them. There are options. But these worn off tip ex nails make my skin crawl.

Also, there must be something very wrong with her if going out to get tea or coffee by herself is something she feels the need to work towards. Agoraphobia? A fear of being alone in general? I don't know what it is but it's serious.

It definitely sounds more like social anxiety to me. If she had agoraphobia she would not have been able to make all the trips she did, whether family went with her, or not, and attending uni would have been far more challenging than it already was for her. This would explain a lot of her choices and behaviour. She is afraid of being judged, scrutinized, looked at, commented on. This can even lead to paranoia. So they avoid the situations. Being in public places, socializing with peers, taking on a job (she went to only a familiar setting, part time, hardly any hours and was exhausted afterwards), being with family who might ask questions that she would take in the wrong way (her holiday with family that gave her a panic attack) Instead we see her always isolating herself or only being with people she is very familiar with; immediate family, Blakeney. That really is it. Someone with Social Anxiety is afraid of how they look, what they might say, how they might feel, how they think others are thinking of them, how they perform in the situation, etc.. If someone looks at you and then talks to the person they are next to, they most likely are just talking about something. But someone with Social Anxiety would see it as they were talking about them, judging them, making fun of them, and in the future, completely avoid the situation.

I remember her saying, years ago, she didn't wear makeup because she wasn't cool and didn't think she had the right to. That is a very twisted mindset. No one told her she wasn't worthy. Only herself. I mean, it is just freaking makeup. I feel like this is an extension of that. She sees people in videos, vlogs, other social media and in person, just ordering a coffee, grabbing a table, sitting down and enjoying themselves, without the need to be performative and film themselves doing it. She doesn't know how to do this. She got caught in her own trap.

In incredibly shocking news that nobody could've ever predicted, PONKUPODTIFTI - the company that has had delivery issues with every single product release - has had a delivery issue with their new product release.

Ruby's been claiming that she's been working on this planner for a year. It's just another lazy colour palette swap and a couple of different doodles added to a few pages. There's no reason that they should be leaving this shit so late every year.

Also she’s very much the daughter of her mother and her privilege is the result of her upbringing as much as their money. There’s a good chance she’ll never get her comeuppance - or if she does, we’ll probably never find out about it.

Yeah this is the most frustrating part - she doesn't realise how privileged she is and she likely never will.

She went to an all girls private school, Exeter is renowned for having a very high % of privately educated and upper middle class students, the only job she has had was at the same private school she attended, and the world of publishing and writing (if she ever enters it) is also full of middle class people who have the luxury of time to be able to write.

I doubt she will ever be properly exposed to a working class person apart from when she goes and does her weekly shop in Waitrose.

The only interactions she has are with other, middle class, white, rich girls. She has absolutely no idea of the bubble she lives in, as evidenced by the fact that she once mentioned she knew she was privileged because she "had parents who support her" as if there isn't so much more to it than that.

Can't fucking stand rich people who say they're "well off" or "comfortable" or "worked hard for their money" and I can see all of those phrases coming out of Ruby's mouth.

It’s interesting to me that she’s starting a back to ‘school’ series rather than back to university. I think Americans might be different but in the UK we tend to separate school and uni? Not a lot of uni students that would still call it school. Also, would calling it back to school vs back to uni cater to different audience ages?

Everyone in the UK does as well, it's only Ruby that gauges her life by primary school schedules because she desperately wishes she were TWALVE AGANN.

Talking about "school" would make sense if she were catering to a younger audience, but in this video, Ruby addresses the audience to talk about what to do at university in a "back to school" video, so she's just a braindead moron with a Peter Pan complex. Then she talks about "teachers" at "university" (as opposed to tutors or lecturers) and it's all a muddled mess that she thought would appeal to everyone when it's useful to nobody.

This video also proves yet again that Ruby did no work in her "traditional job" and learned absolutely nothing from the experience. She should've been able to approach this video with a new perspective, having allegedly worked with teaching staff in a school environment. But she just recycles last year's video again instead, with all the same out-of-touch, time-wasting bad ideas, toxic productivity tactics and ED habits, because her brain is sludge and she's a lazy, irresponsible mess.

It also leaves me highly doubtful that she even attended lectures at university, and certainly never paid attention. She claims that at university, the "teachers" will just ask you to tell them what to teach, which is certainly not a thing that ever happened in my time at university. This is some Erimentha-level daydream nonsense where the teachers ask Ruby to take the lead with teaching everyone.

Ruby also can't seem to decide if she's trying to double down on her fake AMMA WATSYON accent or phase it out. So she goes from saying this:
