I can’t keep up. So she’s been talked about on tattle and then talking about herself being talked about on tattle when she’s probably here alongside us talking about herself on tattle so she can talk about herself being talked about on tattle. Why doesn’t she just keep her sons medical business private as it should be and then she won’t have to be running here in a panic wondering what’s being said

So I read the book and it made me feel nothing but pity for her. She's spent her entire life looking for the approval/attention of men, going from relationship to relationship looking for something that she should have found within herself all along. I expected the book to end with some great reveal on her learnings from all of her life's experiences and an insight into why she craves love/attention of any and all men who cross her path. Unfortunately it didn't deliver. I think she lost herself along the way, trying to see herself through other's eyes. I'm sure she didn't imagine a life of sitting in her empty american home stalking all of her ex's social media. Sad really.

Enjoyed the book, it was an easy read and I do like her writing style. Can't understand how it took 5 years to write though (not that I've written a book), but it wasn't a magnum opus like. I would have liked to have seen more self introspection, and why she felt from quite a young age that she needed that level of validation from men; I'm sure she's had enough feedback from therapists where this was explored, but I came away from the book with the impression that Rosemary just had these things done to her by men, end of discussion. Aside from the section about Scott, where she referenced that maybe she wasn't the easiest person to be with during depressive episodes. My main take away was that I'd love to hear more about Bea - she's led an amazing life, and I'm sure she has some interesting stories to share.

Sidebar: I can't wrap my head about Rosemary setting up another separate podcast; she has a really good thing going with NWMS. She's flaky at the best of times, surely another podcast will just detract.

I enjoyed the book because I like her writing but the sad part, which I hoped all the way through she would acknowledge, a book about how she bent to the will of men resulted in her moving to middle America of all places, for a man. Nothing has changed, only escalated in the desperate search to secure commitment.

Well myself and my friends must all be very strange then to want this .
Nothing wrong with wanting it, everything wrong with changing your entire personality to shoehorn yourself into a mans’ life over and over again. She kept texting a married man with four kids, one of whom was a newborn!

I actually understand this. It’s one of those comments that can be a backhanded compliment. Akin to she looks good for her age. How inclusive do we want fashion to be. Why should the apparent intention always be to make us look as slim as possible. Flattering is generally said in relation to figure and shape. Why can’t we wear something we like and enjoy and is comfortable instead of having to make a waist look small and hips look round and bust look perky. It’s not flattering = you look bigger than you are (so what?) or it doesn’t show off your waist (why is that bad?). It can be very fatphobic a term. And how often is it ever used in relation to what a man wears?

I'm gonna say it - she chose the most unflattering dress to wear to the wedding. Nobody could pull off that thing! 😭
How dare you!

Don't you know that the words unflattering/flattering are sexist, body shaming, misogynistic, xenophobic, discriminatory, racist, bigoted, anti-feminist, illegal?!!!!!!

I absolutely applaud her for not taking the bait. She could do with the money but didn't. I can't stand influencers that recommend something you just know they don't believe in. The likes of revive active. Symprove etc only work for some people and they cost a fortune.

How is it fatphobic? Flattering or unflattering can be about any item of clothing or makeup e.g that shade of lipstick is totally unflattering on me, that eyeliner is really flattering on her etc. It literally means it suits someone or it doesn't. If someone has hang ups they can easily start reading into the comment and applying all sorts of meaning, is she saying that I'm fat and it covers my arse when in the vast vast majority of cases the person giving the compliment just meant it in a 'you look nice and it suits you' way.

If you have broad shoulders, some things will be more flattering than others.
If you have big/small boobs, some things will be more flattering than others.
If you're very tall/short, some things will be more flattering than others.
If you have big ears then maybe a ponytail won't be as flattering as wearing your hair down?

Not everything is about fat!!
No but everything is about her. It goes to make up too, some eye shadows are more flattering than others depending on eye colour. And her glasses? They are the most unflattering frames I have ever seen on a human being. Is that fatphobic too? She can’t see beyond herself.

😂😂 OK so it's not a fact that she psychically can't leave America and get on a plane to Ireland then is it? If you're going to be so pedantic. I didn't say that was her only option, or that it be permanent or who she should bring with her. I didn't say she had to leave her husband behind or force him to choose between his children. For you to assume I hate her says a lot more about you than it does me, I don't hate her at all, maybe thats your go to emotion. I don't like when someone persistently moans about a situation yet does absolutely nothing to change it when they can.

You seem to be completely missing my original point anyway. She has the power to change her situation through multiple avenues yet she hasn't. I NEVER once said coming to Ireland just her and her son was her ONLY option.
You said it was AN option, which it is NOT for all of the reasons already mentioned, so let's move on...

Did you not hear her say she wasn't even sure what it was I'm sure when you receive a diagnosis you're in a bit of a whirlwind of not knowing anything about this new world.
Its her own business if she wants to discuss it or not. While it may not be right for you it may be what she wants. Her perogative.
The irony is, it's actually not her business, it's her sons 🤷‍♀️

I actually can't with the pity party on her stories last night.

Why does she insist on talking about Tattle, without giving the full picture. She's well aware that they are loads of people here who actually like her very much, so much that she also has a rave thread. People buying her book, saying they're happy for her, defending her when she's being bratty...... but thats not part of the poor me narrative.

I think its good that she admits that she reads about herself (because, they all do, she's just one of the very few who admit it), but why be so blinkered. Does she just enjoy reveling in her own misery, even when it's only half the picture? Or is she trawling for attention, and knows the rave thread won't get her any sympathy.
I think it was really disingenuous to be honest. She makes the choice to sell her and her families personal lives, she knows and we know that that is how she makes her money. Her content is her and her family pretty much exclusively. Then she is wondering why people comment on her content?

Like someone said earlier she is like an Irish Liz Jones, she doesn't present herself very well, she wrote an entire book about how desperate she was for a man for instance but she doesn't expect comments on it? She share her sons autism diagnosis but doesn't expect comments? She writes in detail about being too lazy to even make her own food and doesn't expect comments on it? I get that of course it is hard reading negative things about yourself but why tell us these thing then? Well money of course but 😭 I barely make any money. It's enough to sell your families privacy though eh?

Get more therapy because your constant search for validation from a man, from strangers on the internet, is never going to lead anywhere good. All she wanted from that is Aw Rosemary don't stop sharing about you and your gorgeous family, I love you so much and would miss seeing how many take aways you ordered this week, validation to keep selling out her family. You are nearly 40, time to start learning to like yourself, I'm sure you will get loads of lovely comments but you know they won't change the way you feel about yourself deep down, only you can do that.

And it's the assumption that women would actually want to swap places with public figures/ influencers/ writers. Take Rosemary for instance, she writes a book about her dodgy past relationships, affairs with married men, etc. Her parents, husband, stepchildren, basically everyone, can read about that. For most people that would be their idea of hell. It certainly would be mine
