We're all ok thank you. Just shaken up and angry. Police have been but they said it's extremely unlikely that we will get our belongings back or catch the person responsible. Currently sat downstairs as they've taken our house keys so we have no way of securing our house until a locksmith arrives in the morning

My husband had to go to work. Someone came to tow his van away to a safe compound as they took the keys but they've given him a hire vehicle. He's had zero sleep as well. I'm home with the kids just sat waiting for the locksmith and the police

They're absolute scum. Ordered a security camera and alerted the neighbours and they're going to check theirs to see if they caught anything. I'm sat in my living room and I'm shaking. Every move makes me jump. I'm a nervous wreck

She was exactly the same it takes time to recover it's awful x Once she got the security put in it made her feel more reassured ,she still has a metal grill on her back window she feels better it's there ..Hopefully your neighbours have picked something up on their CCTV chances are they were in a vehicle if they got away with a lot of stuff they might get the number plate ,,That's the only thing good about the lockdown scum like that were off the streets

So this year obviously hasn't been shitty enough we've just woken up to a burglar leaving our house. We disturbed him but still taken off with a fair bit. I feel physically sick. Material things can be replaced but the thought of someone been in my house terrifies me.

That's awful, I can't even begin to think how I would feel in that situation. At least you're all OK though. Definitely look into alarms/cameras to make you feel a bit safer. Fingers crossed you get at least some of your belongings back.

Nothing worse than knowing someone has been in your house. Have you checked garden or streets nearby to see if anything has been dropped or thrown in gardens?

The saving grace is that you aren’t able to touch anything yet if you have to leave it as it is. Once they’ve been, you can get scrubbing if it will make you feel better. Chances of getting anything or them having it is VERY low. Thinking of you xxxxxxxxxxxxx
