The staging was cool but she herself was a bit lacklustre. Give me Katy and her dancing sharks any day!

Rihanna's musical success is the modern day retelling of the Emperor's New Clothes, except the boy has been written out or has chosen to "have that conversation" in a "safe space" where Rihanna can "tell her truth".

I mean but it is a nice breath of fresh air to see a celebrity who broadly still has the same face she started with & I'm all for her success in other areas.

I saw her at the radio 1 hackney weekender. We left as it was just such a pile of tit. She was really late on and just stomped around half heartedly shouting YEAH and pointing the mic into the audience to sing all the lyrics and didn’t sing anything

I was there too! It was awful, I was so disappointed as I was so excited. The crowd were so dead though and only got excited when Jay-Z came out.

I teared up at the end, Rihanna's music is basically what I grew up on, and I'm always happy to see her thriving

Her dancers really pulled it together well done to them. I know there’s an expectation for women to do lots of dancing and movement and I didn’t mind she didn’t do much of that but she also didn’t sing live

OK she is pregnant but she really didn't give it her all - the lip synching was terrible - she might as well not bothered with a mic!

I don’t think I’ve ever heard Rihanna ever use any of those phrases. Maybe you’re mixing her up with someone else?

This will definitely be forgotten because even though she “announced” her pregnancy she didn’t really make it obvious. If your rep has to confirm it, it’s not an announcement haha. Most memorable for me recently is Katy Perry, Dr Dre and Coldplay/Bruno Mars/Beyoncé

I think what is meant is that she was a product, marketed by JayZ with the best writers and producers in the world, hence having such a impact and legacy, but underneath really she’s not particularly talented in singing. I love the song she did for black panther but I also know she will be auto tuned to the hilt on it and we will never hear a live acoustic version of this. She is iconic, I agree and I love so many of her tracks but essentially she was the front woman for a JayZ product and income stream. Rihanna smashed it with fenty but to stay relevant she needs to do some iconic performances now and then

I don’t think RiRi is woke or being given a platform to tell any truths she doesn’t hold back when she doesn’t like something or someone
