I didn't see a thread for him. Are any of you fans of him? I like him. I just saw this today:

Staggering amount. Not bad for a night's work eh. Has anyone here met him? What he posts about Jane makes me laugh at times.

Still listen to the XFM shows all the time with Steve and Karl, all on YouTube. Rockbusters and stuff. Some of the funniest things I've ever heard. Not been a massive fan of his last couple of shows in all honesty, but comedy right now is in a dire place and he's one of the few remaining lights.

Extras remains one of the funniest things ever shown.

I don't know how anyone kept a straight face as the head went flying across the room.
Agreed, I don't know many who have seen Extras but it's one of my all time favourite TV shows. Not a massive fan of RG as himself (apart from his love for animals), or any of his films, or the other shows, but Extras cracks me up every time. Favourites are the one with Ross Kemp, Patrick Stewart, and Sir Ian McKellen. It's sad how many of the stars who have been on Extras have passed away since then, George Michael in the Christmas Special always makes me a little sad.

Big big fan, love the Office, love Afterlife, love him hosting the awards and not giving a shit and roasting everyone. Seen him live many time and never laughed so much. Great storyteller and seems his family were all piss takers of each other too and don't take themselves seriously. If you want to hear him talk passionately about animals and just have a good belly laugh with him telling stories listen to him in Walking the dog with Emily Dean, it's brilliant.

I’ve never watched his UK The Office, and absolutely cannot stand the US version. No idea what anyone would enjoy about that show, but accept that I’m in the minority on that issue.

He seems the type of comedian for the smug, leftie, suburban middle class type. A bit like Frankie Boyle who has been trying to reinvent himself to appeal to that crowd over the last few years.
I once went to a Frankie Boyle gig, he got heckled close to the end, I expected him to just hit out with a comeback.. It was the only heckle of the night, (pretty good for a Scottisg gig) yet instead he stormed off and didn’t bother to come back out to finish the show. Ever since then I've not liked him, paid good money and only got three quarters of a show.
Never seen RG live but can't imagine he'd react like that.

A "stand up act" who never did stand up before doing his big shows. He's a chancer in that respect.

He does like to think as himself as SO edgy. James Acaster (who is a great stand up) did a great job in calling him out on that.

I cannot bear Frankie Boyle, his face is creepy and he's vile.

Just watched Armageddon and I found it really off for some reason - not sure why. just not as funny as his other previous standup stuff or Golden Globes. Something about his delivery has changed and the material wasn't as good. Relied far too much on the word "c*nt" for laughs...just my opinion.
And I'm a fan of his stuff. Loved the office and the episode of Extras with Les Dennis still makes me laugh every time.
