So I stupidly got my hair bleached twice edit balayage last year and it ruined it
It is straw like and brittle
I have seen people talk About oplaex but can anyone recommend at home treatments to get it to a better condition

Olaplex has saved my hair I also loved the garnier ultimate blends hair food mask with papaya

I like Aphogee 2 step, really makes a difference to brittle hair, it is a strong protein treatment

You can buy the olaplex system for at home. Sleep in a hair a good quality mask weekly x

This always worked well for me

Also olaplex is great.

I’d question the professionalism and skill of your hairdresser though, having completely damaged hair from bleaching twice in a year isn’t good, especially from balayage. There’s lots of things that can be done nowadays to limit damage when lightening hair, and any responsible hairdresser should know this.

In future, before you bleach your hair, smother it in coconut oil. I do this with mine and it's never dry. When I remember my first few attempts as a teen 😱

Ohhhh honey I feel you. I have been bleaching my hair since I was 12 years old. (15 years now and growing out my natural colour whilst dealing with all the damaged bleach growing out)

Stay away from any products that have sulfates and silicones in. (They strip moisture in the hair and leave nasty product build up ultimately leaving it dry and dull)

Don’t use any heat, let your hair air dry. & use an argan oil serum through the lengths daily. (Never on the root)

Limit hair washing to once a week. You need to let your hair’s natural oils get to it.

Olaplex is pricey but amazing. (ASOS sell a pack of minis if you want to test them out).
This is my Olaplex hair wash routine: Dampen your hair and use #3, leave on for 10-20 minutes. Then double wash with shampoo #4, but only on the roots/scalp. Then condition with #5, only the ends and couple inches up. Then mix #6 serum and #7 oil on damp hair and comb through with a wide tooth comb.

Use a soft bristle brush to avoid any further damage and breakage. I use the Denman D81M Brush and got it at bargain price at Savers!

Also remember that the sun and UV rays can damage hair too, so also look for products that protect against UV. I use BeautyWorks Aftersun UV Spray

In terms of “home remedies” there isn’t really anything apart from some DIY hair masks. Coconut oil & Almond oil can help to moisturise the hair. Unfortunately maintaining and repairing bleached hair isn’t cheap.

I know it’s been said but Olaplex is amazing. It’s pretty expensive but you don’t need to use a lot at all. It also smells amazing!
I use the shampoo, conditioner and no3 once a week. For context I get a full head of highlights, ashy blonde and my hair is in fab condition. It can take time but be patient and it will get there

So I totally trusted the hairdresser (before obvs) but she stripped my hair and bleached it on session one and four weeks later bleached it again…
So I’m guessing I’m doing a big oplaex order on payday then 🙈
