After Jane, I now wonder about Sir David Attenborough. He's 99. I wonder how long he has left. I haven't heard from him in a while. Does anyone know what he's upto these days?
At his age I think we all know the announcement won't be far off. He's actually almost 99 and a half years old now.

Aah, Vicar! I hope you're ready to conduct the Royal state funeral for Hyacinth Bucket. Nobody as important as Hyacinth Bucket and more deserving of a state funeral.

RIP Patricia Rutledge. A legendary actress, nobody else could've made Hyacinth the character she was. Her physical comedy in the show, facial expressions and such were amazing.

I think Candlelight Suppers shall be held up and down the country this evening in her honour.

She was one of the last of the Keeping Up Appearances cast still living. Clive Swift (Richard), Geoffrey Hughes (Onslow), Mary Millar (Rose) all long gone already . What a legacy that series left. They don't make them like that any more.

A terrific stage actor as well. RIP.

96 is something to be celebrated but she was a very gifted and unique actress. I love watching Keeping Up Appearances, it really was comedy gold.

Shirley Stelfox played Rose and she is indeed dead.

Apparently Clive Swift was thoroughly unpleasant in real life.

RIP Patricia - a true legend.

Judy Cornwell who played Daisy was in a 1970s sitcom/drama called Moody and Peggy in which her character played a woman who inherited a house but had to share with a man whom was a stranger to her. There wasn't many episodes but a great watch. I recently found it on you tube.

RIP Manchán Magan

Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam uasal 💔

I listened to his interview with Brendan O' Connor on 13 September when he revealed he had terminal prostate cancer. He thought he still might have months or even years left.

RIP Hyacinth, and of course all of the other characters the wonderful Dame Patricia played. I remember how lovely this thread was when one of her co-stars passed (I think it was Elizabeth, the neighbour) - so many great memories of Keeping Up Appearances, a programme I fondly remember watching with my mum and dad.

Rest in peace Patricia, and thank you for the laughs ❤

Of course, Patricia Routledge also played Hetty Wainthrop. I also remember her playing an occasional character called Kitty on Victoria Wood: As Seen On TV in the 80s. She used to do these funny monologues

Patricia was also in Coronation Street albeit only briefly as Sylvia Snape who was the owner of Snape's Cafe in Rosamund Street.

So sad. Such a peaceful, gentle soul

Shirley Stelfox played Rose in the first series. Mary Millar played her in the remaining series.

Shirley was probably better known in her later years for playing Edna Birch in Emmerdale
I always found it fun that Mary Millar went from playing Rose to being Mrs Potts in the west end premiere of Beauty and the Beast

I’m surprised Keeping Up Appearances only had five series and I also would have guessed it ended long after 1995. I assume it’s because it was repeated so much that I thought this
