I actually can't stand that type of Jazz but I can appreciate that her and Johnny were a tour de force in that field.Yeah, sad about Cleo Laine. I remember seeing her on TV quite a lot in my childhood and always thought she was unique. Watched some of her music on a reminiscence show not that long ago. Great lifespan but another good 'un gone. I remember her being one of the first people I heard singing jazz-style music and the 'Scoobi-doo-do-do-wap-wap' style. Is it called 'scatting' or something?I'm a bit of a jazz troglodyte.
Same here. Hate all that 'dooby doooby dweee yaaah" rit. Just sing the bloody melody.I actually can't stand that type of Jazz but I can appreciate that her and Johnny were a tour de force in that field.
