I thought I’d start a thread about favourite books that my 25 month old daughter loves and maybe get some ideas too. I don’t think you can ever have too many books. So here goes;

Sharing a Shell - Julia Donaldson (all my children loved this one)

Whatever Next - Jill Murphy

Mog the forgetful Cat - Judith Kerr

Superworm - Julia

There’s A Unicorn In your Book - Tom Fletcher

All the Acorn Wood books

Super Space - by Campbell books (a fact book with flaps)

Lulu Loves Nursery - Camilla Reid (this has really helped with starting nursery)

My boys are 23 months + 3.5 years and love:

Don’t put your finger in the jelly Nelly by Nick Sharrat has been read more times than I can count at this point!

Little blue truck by Alice Schertle

All the Supertato series (and Barry the fish with fingers/Norman the slug with the silly shell by the same authors)

All the Oi Frog & friends series

That rabbit belongs to Emily brown

Poo in the zoo

There’s a bear on my chair / there’s a mouse in my house (big hit with my 2 year old especially)

Mini rabbit not lost

Mr wolfs pancakes

And Bog baby (although for some reason this one makes me cry a beautiful book none the less!)

Thank you for the Emily Brown recommendation- we now have three of these books and my daughter wants them read (at least!) every day.

My 2 yo loves the new books by David Walliams, I enjoy reading them too

William Bee Stanley books are a recent hit too.

Room on the broom, zog, superworm and highway rat by Julia Donaldson.

Any train books for toddlers would be very welcomed

There are a few Usborne farm/poppy and Sam books with trains, I think one is “Woolly on the train” or similar. They also do a few others but if he’s a big train fan I’d imagine you already have those!

my cousins (soon to be four and 18 months) love going to the local library on a saturday morning, the oldest gets 7 books (youngest gets the rest of the quota of 10) they read one a night for the week and then exchange the following saturday! if she finds an author she likes then they'll hunt it out or buy the others in that series. basically any of the square laminated books but i know she particularly loves julia donaldson and tom fletcher

Mum recently got my youngest Peck Peck Peck for my two year old, it’s about a baby woodpecker who is practicing to peck-they really like the repetition and there’s lots of little holes appear in the book!
All mine have loved anything by Julia Donaldson, especially Tiddler and Tabby McTatt.
They all also loved Hairy Maclairy.
The very hungry caterpillar and the very busy spider are both great board books for toddlers.
Oi frog and friends.
A mouse called juilian.
