I sadly thought the same when I miscarried at 10 weeks, I know it is early but it still can really affect youDo you have an early pregnancy unit at your local hospital?
For many people it turns out fine but unfortunately I had a small amount of brown blood and when they scanned methere was no longer a heart beat. Going off this thread many people have had successful pregnancies and still bled though so that’s a really good sign.
I have to say from my experience the NHS didn’t seem to give a toss about the early stages of pregnancy
This is currently the exact situation I am in! Found out I was pregnant last Friday started bleeding for 2 days last Saturday! Went to EPU got told It looks like i had an early loss, I have been testing everyday since and lines have gotten darkerSo two years ago I done a pregnancy test that came back positive I then started to bleed the next day and went to the early pregnancy clinic where they told me I had a chemical pregnancy and to expect to bleed. It didn’t sit right with me so I went home and every day I took more and more tests the lines were getting darker and the weeks got more advanced on the clear blue digital. So I went back to the epu to find out I was in fact carry a baby and was pregnant all along. I would just say as hard as it is wait and do a clear blue digital and if the weeks progress I would go back and I had to have blood test done to see if my hgc was rising and it was. I’ve just put my two year old to bed x have faith what is meant to be will be x
That sounds absoultey awful! I’m so sorry you went through that. I feel like I’m going through something similar, I’ve tried to work my dates out and figured I should be around 4/4.5 weeks, I have been told to test every couple of days which I have been and the like is stronger, bleeding had stopped and I had a follow up with doctor today who has said it’s sounding positive and it could be a viable pregnancy? I started to get so upset as I’ve had someone tell me I’ve had a early loss and another tell me it’s sounding positive? I feel sick with anxiety and I can’t sleep with being in limbo, they won’t do anything until next week!! Not even a blood test!! XYeah it’s really tough. To be honest sitting at home for 9 days bleeding and not knowing whether I was miscarrying or not was almost worse than the actual miscarriage because I was constantly googling and trying to find any possible reason that could explain it that wasn’t a miscarriage, even when I was passing products I was still in denial. It was fucking awful and I feel like some of that distress could have been appeased by knowing what was happening. I paid for a private scan after 9 days as I couldn’t take it anymore. I’ve thought about writing a letter to them but I haven’t bothered, I know the sort of generic reply I’ll get so I don’t see the point.
Great news! Hopefully all is ok from hereBeen checked out today. All okay apart from an infection.
Countdown to next scan in a couple of weeks when I feel I’ll be able to relax a little bit if all goes well

Went to EPU got told It looks like i had an early loss, I have been testing everyday since and lines have gotten darkerI have to make contact with them if it’s still positive by Tuesday. I’m really really trying to stay positive; but I feel sick with worry and I hate not knowing what is going on, but I agree what’s meant to be with be
So glad to have read your positive story! Xxx
So sorry to hear about your previous loss, it’s awfulSo sorry to hear this. Bleeding in pregnancy is always really scary. It is very positive that you have seen a heartbeat on a previous scan though. I’d strongly recommend calling ÉPAU if it continues - do you have your dating scan soon?
I do agree with what’s been previously said that my experience of bleeding in early pregnancy was that they didn’t care - I miscarried at 6 weeks and it was in the first lockdown, just told to call back if I got severe pain not managed by painkillers or if I was soaking a pad every hour (had no idea if it was a miscarriage or not at this point, was not offered a scan or any follow up). However given you are 11 weeks and you have previously seen a heartbeat I think you may have a different reaction. Xxxx
thank you so muchIt
oh I hope you have a positive outcome. It’s looking likely given your tests. They should do a blood test and check your levels for you when you next go and then your hve to go back again in 2 days to check if they have doubled. I’m sending all the baby dust and sticky vibes to you! Honestly from the bottom of my heart I wish you all the best on your journey x
I hope your okI’m currently going through an early loss at the moment,I only found out I was pregnant on Friday started bleeding on Saturday. Ive had an internal scan today which showed nothing, the hospital said it’s either to early for anything to be seen or iv’e suffered an early miscarriage. I’m trying to hold on for hope but feeling so overwhelmed by it all.
I really hope everything is okay with your pregnancyxxxx
Sorry you are going through this. Brown blood is often old so fingers crossed it’s from your previous bleed. Lots of love and thinking of you xSo I’m 11 weeks pregnant with my first. Had a miscarriage last year at 10 weeks.
Had a bleed in December and was checked out at the hospital and thankfully a heartbeat was found.
I’ve started lightly bleeding this morning (TMI but it’s more brown than red) and I’m so sick of how stressful this all is. I don’t want to go to hospital again as I waited to be seen for 4 hours in December and it’s so stressful with obviously COVID situation. It’s so disheartening waiting for something to happen.
No real reason for my post other than to rant. Is regular bleeding really ever compatible with pregnancy
Hi, I know hospital is really stressful just now but I would still phone them and ask to be checked over, do you have a 12 week scan coming up ? I am currently 25 weeks pregnant and I bled at 8 weeks and 12 weeks, brown and red blood, was scanned at 8 weeks and all was fine and I had my 12 week scan a few days after the next bleed and everything still fine, not had any bleeding since and it was unexplained. Both times I was absolutely certain I was miscarrying because I had one prior to this pregnancy, please get it checked out if you are worried xxSo I’m 11 weeks pregnant with my first. Had a miscarriage last year at 10 weeks.

I had a lot of bleeding with my first. They’re 4 years old now. I’m sorry that’s happening to you! Fingers crossed it’s just some delayed implantation bleeding. Can you call your Early Pregnancy Unit and ask for a scan? If you haven’t already had a scan I find that if you say you have pain on one side they get you in pretty fast.So I’m 11 weeks pregnant with my first. Had a miscarriage last year at 10 weeks.
