I can’t wait for these last 5/6 weeks to be up and I can finally meet baby. The anxiety of what you can and can’t do is killing me and I can’t wait to go a day without worrying whether or not me eating a twix is going to result in serious problems 😂

come into triage for reduced movements…but also come into triage for increased movements…but also don’t come in unless you’re bleeding because it’s probably nothing…but don’t ignore it!

don’t eat this…but you can eat this if you cook it over a flame on the night of the blue moon using the blood of six virgins to light the fire

don’t forget to exercise…but also don’t put your arms above your head too long because your umbilical cord will end up like a noose

don’t have a bath too hot…but you can have a bath if it’s 36.38947 degrees anything over that and you’ve gone too far

Someone has accidentally ruined my gender reveal :( I’m absolutely gutted! Have to try and pretend to be surprised now because my husband doesn’t know. 😫😭

I’m late to this new thread but can’t believe I’ve been able to click full term in the poll. Induction is booked for next week 🥰

The brown turned to bright red so I’ve called the unit and they’ve said I can come up to be checked out.

Really can’t catch a break this pregnancy 😭

Thought after being released from fetal medicine that I could finally relax now 😭

Think I've just experienced medical gaslighting. I've been getting about 4 hours a night sleep. No trouble falling asleep but I can't stay asleep. Midwife said it's totally normal but from what I was describing it sounds like I need to reset my sleep cycle and to speak to the GP (who was a locum and not my regular GP) about possibly getting some medication for a couple of nights to reset it.

Conversation goes like this:

Me: explain the issue
GP: it's because you're very stressed and anxious
Me: I don't think so. I don't feel that way at all and it's only been since I've been pregnant so I think it's something biological.
GP: you sound very anxious to me.
Me: I'm not. I'd quite happily say if I was.
GP: you really need to accept that you're anxious.

It goes in like this for a bit with me explaining myself over and over.

Me: explain what the midwife said again
GP: midwife doesn't know what she's talking about, women don't struggle with sleeping in their first trimester unless they are anxious
Me:...
GP: so you want me to sign you off work, is that it?
Me: No, I don't think that's necessary at all.
GP: look, I'll give you some Phernagan but you have to accept a sleeping pill isn't going to fix your problem, you probably need antidepressants.

Speechless.

All good at 12 week scan, just one baby! I wanted to wait for a surprise but now I’ve seen the skull shape I have a really strong feeling and want to see if I’m right. What do we think?

They’re keeping me in overnight unfortunately :/

Didn’t bring anything with me as thought it would be a quick check, but they’re concerned as there’s still bright red blood and I have a low placenta.

Considering I've just been admitted to be induced after a whirlwind 24 hours I'd be extremely concerned if baby Brew doesn't make her appearance in this thread 😆

Had my baby shower today and my mum organised it and she honestly gave 100% to it, decorated beautifully, just fabulous and couldn’t be more grateful for her and the effort she made!

But many people I thought would come didn’t (some family and friends), and the guests that did come didn’t talk to me much including my own nan or come to just to see me, just an excuse for a drink. Made me question whether people even like me, it felt like lonely in a room full of people situation.

I’m trying not to be upset or think of the day negatively as my mum and others put so much effort in to make it amazing for me.
Just needed to rant really without feeling bad about it

Hey all thank you all so much for your well wishes 🥰!

Baby Girl arrived at 14:42 and weighs 7lb7 and she’s perfect I can’t believe I made her (along with Mr10 of course lol)!

I’m doing okay but haven’t moved much but from the small bits I have I can tell it’s going to be a painful time ahead, going to the ward now and first night on my own as mum lol xx
Wow, have the most amazing first night 🩷🩷 Congratulations lovely 🩷🩷

Midwives were absolutely lovely. Got a scan tomorrow morning at EPU. They think I'm fine but want to err on side of caution as they said due to some risk factors I'm at higher risk of miscarriage.

Seeing so many reels recently of 'what I eat in a day pregnant'. Starts the day with a lemon in hot water and piece of fruit for breakfast, snacks on carrot sticks until lunch when they have a green salad with a morsel of chicken. Snacks on nuts until dinner of a flimsy piece of fish with a single chip and a sad looking piece of lettuce. No mention of eating like this due to nausea etc

Fuck oooooffffffff. That isn't enough to sustain a child, let alone a pregnant woman. Just admit you've wolfed down a family sized pack of chicken tenders smothered in mayo and cheese because it's your latest craving like the rest of us and have a day off.

Hi everyone, I hope I can join the chat. I’ve just found out I’m pregnant (feels weird even typing that!) and am about 6 weeks. Any recommendations for good books that cover everything? Getting overwhelmed by the amount of info on the internet so would be good to focus on a book or two in the first instance. Thank you in advance

Picked up my new car tonight, it’s a five door where my previous was a three and got hit by a flood of emotions that baby is going to be here soon and she’s going to be in the back seat and gosh it all feels so strange 😭

On another rant about pregnancy things that annoy me.. I have quite a few friends/ family members/ people I know that make no effort to see me now but want to come round as soon as the baby is born and see her?? Like these people live round the corner up to 15 mins drive away and have said stuff like ‘we must meet up when the baby is here’ and ‘you will let me come see the baby won’t you’. But the same people completely ignore me and never see me now despite me asking and always trying; I’m someone who goes out a lot and always makes the effort and makes plans to see people 🙃

Maybe I’m being sensitive but.. Our baby is due in Jan and I need a C section.. why the F would I want to see you after major surgery at the peak of all the winter illnesses with a newborn when you couldn’t be bothered to see me while I was still pregnant or even before then?? Or even speak to me for that matter? The same people ignored me during my miscarriages and tough times so I’m feeling extra irate about it 😂

You need to Google PUQE score and go and get some drugs. They're safe and effective, it's not the frigging dark ages. Get some help and function properly
I’m obviously a bit sensitive but hopefully the aggression in your post is aimed at the medical professionals that don’t understand, rather than at me!

im on two different anti-emetics at the moment, just trying to get the dose right so that it’s enough to stop me being sick, but not too much that I’m like a zombie.
