Just back from the midwife and baby is back to back 😫😫
Anyone successfully turned a back to back baby? She said to get on all fours. I'll never get back up 😂😂
I can’t give you any tips on how to turn, but whatever they give you, do it. I didn’t do it with my first, but wish I did

What's others experience with gas and air? I had an epidural fairly late last time and long story short (I won't go too much into it as it ended up being a traumatic birth) but it didn't really work. They didn't have gas and air either but now the new hospital does so I'm pretty keen to try that this time! Gottaa write down some kind of vague birth wishes soon but it's massively triggering 😖
Gas and air has made me feel high every time. They eventually take it off me coz I concentrate on that rather than pushing baby out 😂

Is it basically laughing gas? Lol. I tried that on a holiday once and my friends loved it but I had to sit down and felt really sick and dizzy from taking it so makes me wary about the gas and air if it’s the same thing 🤣🙈

It's exactly the same thing, yes. Gas and air is also known as laughing gas

Gas and air and a birth pool and you feel like you’re on a bloody holiday 🥂
This is exactly what I need after 8 months of not drinking and 2 years without a holiday. One reason to look forward to the actual birth part 😂

Can’t believe I’m even writing this, I feel like such a wet blanket but my boyfriend has just left to go away for the weekend for his friends bday and I cried after he went. He went round the house before he left checking I had everything I needed, reminded me about taking my vitamin D and was like don’t worry it’s only a few days. I’m going to blame my hormones because as soon as I shut the door behind him I got all tearful about him not being here! Had to sit on the sofa with a cookie to distract myself 😂

Wish some one would remind me to take my vitamin D I’m terrible 🙈

Hi everyone!
I’m 23 weeks and I’m looking for some advice… has anyone had a DVT and been on blood thinners throughout pregnancy? If so, did you have to be induced? C-section? Should I bother thinking of a birth plan as it feels as though I’ll be restricted in what I can and can’t do anyway…

this is my first pregnancy and honestly it’s not been easy - DVT at 8 weeks (daily double injections from then until 6 weeks after birth) and a number of other complications - I am TIIIRED 😂 but would love to hear from someone that may have been through the same for a bit of reassurance!

thanks and good luck everyone 😊

I don't know if I want to know, but...I take it labour wasn't great back to back ? 🙈😫😂

We’ve finally done it and ordered the travel system at 32 + 4. I always thought I would buy this immediately but I’ve spent the last 6 months panicking and re-reading reviews and we’ve actually gone for something we hadn’t even considered until a week ago 😂

Re birth plans, I was a nieve 19 year old. My best friend had delivered two babies one with no pain relief & one with just gas & air and I thought well if she can I can. I had no preferences on what pain relief I would of wanted just had in the back of my mind that the options were there if I really felt I needed them. Originally I just wanted to be in a birthing pool as I spent my pregnancy in the bath but due to induction and antibiotics & needed constant monitoring whilst labouring. I managed to get to 6cm on just gas and air with the oxytocin drip, at 6cm I had pethidine which helped and I was managing to rest between contractions, by 8cm the pethidine had worn off & I was given remifentynl on a PCA pump (a little button that you pressed once it sent pain relief to you & locks out for 10/15mins) and that was heaven I was seeing fairies and talking a lot of tit😂.(Hoping i get a go of it again this time round tbh🤣) Basically what im getting at is you can think you will want one course of pain relief and wanna go down one path but ultimately you're not gonna know until your in that room and labouring, you might have a natural high pain threshold but find you haven't the threshold for labour or you might have a really low pain threshold & absolutely smash labour with nothing but 2 paracetamol! Don't worry yourselves too much over your preferences, if your in hospital they will offer and advise you & it's with you in moments!

I can't comment for myself. But my best friend was on blood thinners right from falling pregnant as she has a history of DVT. She wasn't induced or anything.
And they tried to avoid csection where possible as its a higher chance of bleeding

It wasn’t, and I ended up with assisted delivery, but I was very naive and thought I’d breeze through labour 🙃
I say this, but I am lazy, and if this baby is back to back, I’d probably leave it 😂

Are you not allowed the pool if you are on antibiotics? I don’t think I actually want to know the answer to this as I’m group B strep positive and I have to go straight on them 😭

Thanks for this! ❤ I think I just felt like I needed to know I’d get pain relief if I need it.

You will get pretty much what ever you want when you ask for it, obviously if your observations suggest otherwise you'll get a no, but they will listen to what you want and if they don't think it's suitable they will find you an alternative and try and keep you as relaxed as you can, you're the star of the show once your in that delivery suite your wish is everyone's command

Are you allowed to opt for a c section since they are back to back?

Wish some one would remind me to take my vitamin D I’m terrible 🙈
He reminds me daily and I probably actually take it about 3 times a week. And then my midwife reminds me how important it is, in my head I vow to take it every day… and then I forget again!

I'm not sure I've never had a section or back to back baby. I guess it's a case of identifying how your labour is progressing or the risks associated with B2B and labouring before you start. I'd ask your midwife

I think the epidural is too late by 7/8cm
I’ve always found it better without a birth plan as you are not set on something, and if it doesn’t go how you wanted it to go, you can’t be disappointed
Pethidine is a good drug to have if you’re open to it. It’s sent me to sleep with all 3 labours. I had the epidural for the first and third labour
Regarding the epidural slowing things down, when I had it with my last, I couldn’t push for an hour after I got it. I’m not sure why though, so I guess it can slow things down in that sense

ETA just googled about how late it is to have an epidural. Apparently it’s never too late. I think with the second they said that because they knew I didn’t really need it and was coping without. Cheeky gits 😂
I got my epidural at 10cm 🤣
Gas and air made me puke at the first taste but they let me keep it but genuinely don't think it helped at all

I take vit D that I've bought myself but midwife has never mentioned this. I'm high risk with gestational diabetes, low papaA, also taking daily injections to stop blood clots....basically everything going!
