Most places , I think .

Disney . Do not see the appeal.

India. It seems too busy and chaotic.

New York.

Yeah, I’ve read a lot about the history of the indigenous people and how they were and still are treated. It’s absolutely heartbreaking. You’d think the younger generation would be a little more educated and want to move on from this attitude, but it seems like a lot of them haven’t.
The hostility I experienced was awful, so can only imagine how that must feel for the people from there. The racism I’ve experienced here in England doesn’t really compare.
Canada is the same in regards to their indigenous. I moved here from UK and was shocked by the history.

I'm saddened to read many aren't interested in visiting NZ or Australia, and that some members have not been made to feel welcome when visiting either in some way, but you can't tar everyone with the same brush. I have a Somalian friend who moved here (to NZ) some years ago as a refugee and has never, ever felt unwelcome or experienced racism. I'm not saying it's all rainbows and unicorns, and you tend to get racist and prejudiced people everywhere, but it's nowhere near as bad as what some people believe.

NZ has a lot of beautiful scenery and things to do; it's a long way to come without seeing Australia at the same time though. That said, it is very small and it's not for everyone. I worked with a lady a few years back who had decided to move her whole family here without visiting first; they arrived here and absolutely loathed it. So back they went! Very, very expensive mistake to make.

Aussie is beautiful for other reasons ... the outback is incredible, as are a lot of the little towns you never hear about ... there's more than enough to whet most appetites.

For me, it's Fiji, Thailand, Indonesia, India, Bali, and Dubai. Mostly because I like less busy places / those that aren't controversial in some way. I do like parts of the States, but definitely not Los Angeles - it is very dirty and feels incredibly unsafe *in general* (if you lived in a gated community I imagine it would be rather pleasant). Disneyland is ridiculously expensive for what it is.

Australia- basically a hotter, slightly less tit version of the Uk.

Anywhere in the Middle East, Asia or Africa.

Any chavvy Brit-abroad places like Benidorm and the like.

Las Vegas. The main strip seems tacky and over crowded!
I’ve also heard terrible things about LA. It’s apparently dirty with lots of homeless people around.
I went to Las Vegas last February for a wedding and had the same thought before going but it was actually ok. LA is a hole, Hollywood is dirty and Skid Row is scary and heartbreaking. Just go to San Francisco, so much better!

Turkey, Egypt, Benidorm, Cambodia, Vietnam, Japan, Bali.

Been to Thailand and hated it, wouldn't go back. Same with India.

Really? I found San Francisco to be just as bad as LA :cautious:

Interesting to read this thread. I seem to go against the grain here but:
Paris is my favourite city in the world, I just like to wander the streets and look at the buildings.
Really enjoyed my time in Las Vegas but I think it would be better to go in a group rather than just a couple.
Benidorm is great for a hen do but I wouldn’t spend my two week summer holiday there or whatever.
Italy, I just adore.
Amsterdam - fun for what it is, been a few times, I’d go back but wouldn’t be fussed if I didn’t go again.
Disney World - so over priced but I’ve never regretting the disgusting amount I spent 😂
Worst place I’ve ever visited in Stockholm, city is gorgeous and clean but the people were vulgar. People say the Parisians are rude? They’ve got nothing on everyone we encountered in Stockholm. We spent 2 days there, was meant to be 4 and we booked another flight to get home early.
Another rubbish one, Mexico. Absolute crap.

London or anywhere in the UK, NZ, India, anywhere in Ireland my own country 🙈 I physically cringe when I hear how we have to “staycation” again this year ugh.

I found Norwegians quite hard work but once you break the ice they're normally pretty nice.

Don't think I'd be too bothered about Amsterdam as it seems to have fallen into the Brits abroad category.

Benidorm
Dubai (influencers have ruined it)
India (just seems too chaotic)
Paris (been once and would never go back)

New Zealand and Thailand where personally two of my favourite holiday destinations. Amazing places and sights to see IMO 🙂.

Magaluf, Benidorm, Ibiza and the like - I think Spain is gorgeous. The general crowd that has held these locations as their main holiday destination is not.
Dubai, Abu Dhabi - Very artificial, very tasteless. Also, I have zero interest in lining the pockets of the Emirates.
Antalya - Riddled with cheap tourists behaving crassly, holds no real attraction for me.
Australia - not because I have anything against Australia, but can't imagine what I'd do there as I'm not at all an outdoorsy nature person. Too far for a casual visit. (I would love to visit New Zealand, on the other hand. Go figure.)
Maldives, Bora Bora, Bali and the like - Again, not because I have an attitude against these places, I imagine it must be a treat if you can afford the nice hotels etc. but I absolutely loathe the heat and the only time I enjoy the beach is around October and I prefer the Aegean coasts for that. To me, not worth the expense. Will settle for the photos instead.

Really? I absolutely loved San Fran. It does have those areas so I suppose it’s where you go but I felt it was so much better than LA and it enjoyed it a lot more. I definitely felt a lot safer there.

Vegas, Florida, Disneyland/world, anywhere in North America really.

Dubai, Abu Dhabi, I just couldn't deal with it.

Israel

Turkey

Cyprus and Greece, I've been but didn't find it particularly welcoming, wouldn't go again

On the other hand, I loved Barcelona each time I've been. South Africa was marvelous too.

Interesting thread, I feel like with some people’s lists, there aren’t many places left to visit!😂

I’ve never fancied Thailand, India, Bali, anywhere in that part of the world really. And I also don’t particularly fancy South Africa or anywhere on the African continent actually.

I mainly holiday in America and Disney world or Disneyland, which isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but it is mine.

I do think it’s a good thing that not everyone likes the same holiday destinations, the less people that go to Disney world the better for me! 🤣🤣

Places I loved: The Greek islands, Las Vegas, Canary Islands.

Places that were okay but I’d probably not visit again: Amsterdam, Balearic Islands.

Places I’d like to go to: Japan, Canada, Iceland, Sweden. I’d like to visit some of the less “in demand” destinations in the US like New Orleans and Boston etc.

I actually don’t mind staycations. We have some beautiful places here in Britain. If money affords it and once the stay at home message is lifted, I’d like to do more travelling around my home country of Scotland. I’ve always fancied doing more further south of the border too, the coastal areas are beautiful, but whenever I passed through London on my travels, I’ve found people can be really rude towards us and they don’t accept our Scottish currency. Not saying that’s everyone, just what I’ve found. My uncle lives in Southampton, he keeps telling us to come visit.

New York seems so overrated to me. Empire State Building, State of Liberty, meh, next. Seems like it would be really smelly and dirty too.

I used to want to go to these places so badly but as I’ve gotten older I just think they’re too popular and hyped up that it’s put me off. I sort of feel the same about Disney World. Though, that’s my kids’ ultimate dream holiday and if I had the money I’d still take them.

China. I’ve been to Hong Kong and absolutely hated it. My parents and in laws have both been to China and despised it. My dad actually spent a lot of time there for work and never liked it at all.

Similarly most of SE Asia.

Anywhere with a jungle/rainforest, which means a tit load of things ready to scare the crap out of me.

I’ve been to Australia and wouldn’t be keen on going back. Same with NZ.

Pretty much anywhere in Africa. I haven’t seen/heard of anywhere that appeals to me.

I like travelling Europe, one of my favourite holidays has been to Switzerland and I’d love to see more of other surrounding countries.
