Thank you for this thread. I was diagnosed just before the pandemic. I thought I had anxiety and depression (was told I had severe depression) but I just couldn't get to grips with why and how it was only certain times. I started logging my bad times (I'd have rages, want to hurt myself, would lash out, I'd walk out etc) and I realised it was in line with my cycle. Went to the doctor with my diary and they confirmed PMDD. She said she had no knowledge of the condition so couldn't help me, other than say go back on the pill or get pregnant. Neither of which I wanted to do. Got pregnant last year and to be fair she was right, it pretty much cured me. Now my baby is here I'm dreading going back to that dark place. I take evening primrose which helps a bit but doesn't totally eradicate the strong feelings I get. It's frightening at times. I genuinely fear I'll hurt myself badly. I sort of have a red mist descend and the smallest of things can set me off. I also have impulse issues with spending etc which made me think I could have borderline personality disorder but they ruled that out. It's such a horrible thing that there's not enough awareness of. I don't even understand it myself as my doctor can't even tell me what's going on with me. She just said there's very little research into it. Why am I not surprised. Hope you're okay and finding ways to manage it
