So I’ve committed to 10 sessions with a PT in the new year and while I’m not a stranger to exercise I have no idea of how many sessions I should have with them a week, I was thinking 2? Does that sound like a good amount? Goals are to lose weight and get ripped 😂

It wouldn’t be the only exercise I do in a week, I’ve also got a peloton/weights at home which I use quite consistently

I do 2x30min sessions a week, but sometimes drop down to 1 a week if I've got a lot of social stuff on. I also do 40min swim and don't find it to be too much. I think I might add some sort of cardio class in next year. Getting a PT was one of the best things I've done this year, I was too intimidated by weights to do any myself!

You could always start with 2 and see how you feel and then could reduce if you felt 2 is too much alongside what you already do at home?

Thanks! Ok will start at 2, I’m really looking forward to getting started and using different equipment, dumbbells can only get you so far 😂

I'd start with one a week even if you move to two, if it's going to use different muscles to those you normally do you might find yourself stiffer than usual for a few days.

Got my first one on the 5th so only having the one the first week so can see how it goes. I’m sure I’ll be aching for days, I hate that feeling 😅 might buy some Epsom salts!

Two initially - perhaps for a month, then one - just to keep you on track.

That's what I'd suggest.

I'm in the 1 initially camp. Also make sure to do stuff that you wouldn't do on your own. A friend was paying for PT sessions and half of it was a run which I could've done with her for free.
