Hi, like so many other ladies I have been struggling for years now with hormones, tiredness and aches and pains due to the Perimenopause 😔 For about 6 months I’ve been taking supermarket supplements and they had been helping a tiny bit! But I think I need to get better quality ones… any advice I’d be grateful for please 🙏

Perimenopause is before me for another while yet but my hormones have always been haywire. I was on Well Woman vitamins for a while and they were ok but now that I’m on Pharmaton Vitality, I can really feel the difference. Weightlifting and protein drinks have also helped quite a lot x

Thank you so much for your reply. Protein drinks 🤔 I’ll give them a try. I’ve just received today some supplements especially for Perimenopause, so I’ll try them and also I’ll have a look at pharmaton vitality. Thank you 🙏

I hope you find them beneficial. I’m here if you ever want to chat or just vent. Hormone issues can be the absolute worst. I swear I turn into Eeyore halfway through every month 😂

This is a super old post. But hopefully it will help someone. There's a lot of misinformation out there on social media and spread amongst people so please follow the researched backed science and be wary of influencers who are linking discount codes or affiliate links.

Not necessary to take multi vitamin just makes expensive pee. Unless of course you're pregnant and taking a prenatal vitamin or have been recommended by GP or other physician to do so.

What helps is a really well rounded diet. If you have certain restrictions like vegetarian or vegan then supplementation is important for lacking nutrients.

Vitamin D is vital. We don't get enough vitamin D from being outside or foods. 400 iu is recommended daily but discuss with your GP. You may need a different amound depending on where you live.

Magnesium glycinate helps. Take it in the evening before food. Make sure it's Magnesium glycinate or bisglycinate. Other kinds can send you to the toilet.

Eat enough fibre. women need something like 38 grams daily. So oats, beans, legumes, avocado. Being regular is important for disease prevention. Can't stress this enough.

Make sure you're eating enough protein rich foods. Lifting weights (doesn't have to be crazy heavy, just heavy for you) is important because we want to make sure our bone density is good as we get older to avoid osteporosis. Also having some musicle helps with our mobility as we age - we need musicles in our body to help us get out of bed, up off chairs, and up and down stairs. And some cardio because heart health is important too.

Thank you for this, I have since ditched the expensive “perimenopause supplements” after someone here made me aware that a lot of them are probably just jumping on the bandwagon because more is being talked about regarding perimenopause, so cashing in on it 🤨 I just take magnesium glycinate and B12 now and my sleep, tiredness and moods have really improved 👍
